Now that some of us are finished with the book, what were your favorite parts? The parts that made you LOL, or made you cry, made you contemplate, made you all warm and fuzzy inside?

MOD EDIT: To cover all the different types of favorite parts in the book

A funny part: "Safe as Houses" I loved this phrase and I might start using it now. LOL!

Warm and fuzzy: I love after Jamie is healed and they are all laying together in that tiny room, all physically touching each other and appreciating each other. I just LOVED this part.

Contemplative: I like when Wanda is thinking about why the human connection is so much stronger than anything she's experienced. She thought that maybe because there was such a contrast of good and bad, hate and love; judgements, jelousy, etc., that to be loved by a human meant so much more because the individual has to get past all those human tendencies. Or at least this is how I interpreted it. I'll have to find the page #. It really made me appreciate all those who loved me.

My all time favorite part is the comment made by Ian at the end:
Quote:
"I held you in my hand, Wanderer. And you were so beautiful."

Page 605.

His love and acceptance amazes me. *sigh*

I'll have to get back to you about the other favorites I have. I can't thik of ay right now. Lol!

My favorite part was when Ian said to
Wanda that he held her in his hands and that she was beautiful, I cried there for him to love her, as she was... it was great.

I also loved the conversation that Wander and Mel had, did anyone else laugh when those two where talking to each other?... I couldn't stop they were so cute.

I haven't completely finished the book yet (so I will probably be back to most more Very Happy ) but one line that made me almost shoot soda out my nose is when Wanda is explaining how Mothers divide and every cell becomes a new "soul" and then someone (we don't know who) mutters "We got a bloody queen mother alien living with us. She could blow into a million new buggers at any moment." Laughing Laughing

I also believe my favorite was when Ian said how he held her and she was beautiful. Talk about the ultimate love, knowing all secrets, all default, everything and see the beauty in it all. *sigh* I think I wondered if he was in love with Wanda in Mel body or could he just love Wanda. I think that it was clear in the end.

Funny parts....hum. I thought it was funny when they went to the gas station and was loading up supplies and she kept grabbing food (come on donuts?!) and when tried to lift the water and Mel was yelling at her about how 'soft' she had become. It was jsut a sister type of batter. It was cute.

My favorite part is pages 383-385 when Ian and Jared are fighting over Melanie/Wanda. It made me laugh out loud!

My favorite as well. What a wonderful display of true, deep love.

I love this line, as well as the whole chapter "Welded," where he was determined that "Wanda" wouldn't leave him!

I love any part where Ian shows affection and kindness for Wanderer.

I loved it when 'mel' punched Jared at that first kiss. I gasped audibly and my son said, 'what, mom?' I loved that! Very unexpected! I teared up when Wanda was preparing for her own death. I really like Wanda a lot, you can't help but like her. And I loved Uncle Jeb and how SM made him talk like a hick from a small town, 'mebbe', how does SM think of these things? Smile Also, I loved the line (but I can't find at the moment, maybe some one knows where it is) where Mel tells Jared that if she had to pick someone to be stuck on a deserted planet with it would be him. That made me smile:)

"I held you in my hand, Wanderer. And you were so beautiful."

this was definately the hopelss romatinc in me's favorite part but I missed the heavy sarcasm from Twilight so I really like this one form pg 115 when Mel & Wanderer wanted to die inhte dessert.

It is only 12 hours since I finished the book – there are so many amazing situations to recall. However, the thrill when Ian whispers in Wanda’s ear – that just pulled at something deep in my core.

Stephenie’s books are the first where I wanted to read them over almost as soon as I was finished. Hmmm, maybe I need the audio version of this one too – so I can move about in my life while keeping this story with me. 

pg 348...

Jared lunged forward, away from me. With a loud smacking
sound, his fist hit Kyle's face.
Kyle's eyes rolled back in his head, and his mouth fell slack.
The room was very quiet for a few seconds.
"Um," Doc said in a mild voice, "medically speaking, I'm not sure
that was the most helpful thing for his condition."
"But I feel better," Jared answered, sullen.

I totally laughed out loud at this part!
By the way...I'm not a violent person...really... Rolling Eyes

Oh, I had so many favorite parts! I sobbed when Wanda held Walter's hand and pretended to be his Gladys. I sobbed when Wanda asked Doc to bury her next to Walter and Wes after he'd removed her from Mel. I sobbed when Wanda was making the final walk to have Doc extract her and she meets Jared in the tunnel and he says, "I love you, Wanda." But, there were other parts that I loved just as much that didn't make me cry. Very Happy Very Happy One of my favorite happy parts was after Wanda woke up in Pets body and she discovered that Sunny had been reinserted into Jodi's body. The irony of Kyle being in love with a soul was awesome.
