So many good parts, I had to start marking them with stickies to remember my faves.
I laughed along with you all when Kyle gets knocked out--he so deserved it.
I was touched when Wanda was watching the little family at the park, it made me feel the same sense of hope she had.
Also, in Welded when Wanda and Ian are discussing how things could ever work between them and she says how much she loves him even though he is not of her species--true love doesn't make sense. I felt what an impossible situation!
In Continued she said "Perhaps there could be no joy on this planet without an equal weight of pain to balance it out on some unknown scale." I totally believe this, that is why our lives have so many ups and downs, so we can enjoy the good.

Yes, this is a philosophy of mine for sure. You have to taste the bitter in order to appreciate the sweet.

I don't have my book in front of me, but I LOVED when Wanda is looking over her host body, her hands and everything, and talking about how beautiful it is. (Somewhere near the end, like she's saying good bye). And all of her apprecition of the sences. . . It really hit home to me what a miracle our bodies are. Somewhere SM wrote that the Host is like a love song or a tribute or something to her body. I love that, especially when there is way too much negative focus on women's bodies.

Of course I loved the parts people have mentioned so far. The most memorable being Ian's line to Wanda, but I had to run get my book and find some of the lines I underlined.

"So, today wasn't that bad, " Jeb said as we walked through the dark corridor.

"Not that bad," I murmured. After all, I hadn't been murdered. That was always a plus. (p. 236)

That was the first passage I got out a pencil to mark. I appreciate a little sarcasm. The reality of it hit home too - how much we complain about little things in our life and for her it was just a good day when she was still alive.

"My friends from other planets wer all blurred together in my head; the soulds were so similar, almost interchangeable in some ways. Walter was distincly himself. When he was gone, there would be no one who could fill his place." (326)

That line really reinforced the value of an individual human life - of my life and what I can do while I am here on earth - that each of us really needs to value our own and eachother's lives and the contirbutions that are uniquely ours to make.

I agree with enjoying the part when Mel punches Jared.
My favorite part though (even with the tears) is when Ian overhears Wanda telling Sunny that she would be leaving soon too & Ian grabs her & takes her to his room. When he buried his head in her stomach & cries - I don't think I could breathe the sobs were so strong. My poor dog - he hates when I cry & tries to lick the tears away (he is a ShihTzu) he climbed on my chest & just looked at me. Then when Mel gives them a 'moment alone' and Wanda gets to kiss Ian, really kiss him. I just melted. The tears were coming so fast!
I also love the part where she realizes that she loves Mel. That they had become sisters in their own way. That connection - that friendship hit me hard. There are those people we come in contact with during times of need & if we are lucky they become a part of our family.
I also loved the part where Jamie & Jared fought. That entire moment is huge for Jamie in so many ways. It is that sacred point between young adult & manhood. That pinnacle of discovery that no one is perfect & standing up for something can be so worth it. It is a great point for Mel to see her brother growing, to see Jared loving Jamie so wholeheartedly. (considering after the punch all he wants is to find that boy & apologize).

Stephenie did a marvelous job in writing something so different that we, as Twilighters, can not only enjoy but appreciate for its differences. This one brings a whole new meaning to self-discovery.

Okay, so, there's the Cheetos, where Jared is rubbing it in her face that he has them. I literally laughed out loud when I read that, then my husband proceeded to gave me a funny look.

Then there's:
"The body and the person locked inside it belong to me." -Jared

And:
Ian interrupted him with a sigh. "Don't get worked up. Wanda isn't exactly human, despite the body. She doesn't seem to respond to . . . physical contact the same way a human would."

Now Jared laughed. "Is that your theory?"

"What's funny?"

"She is quite capable of responding to physical contact," Jared informed him, his tone suddenly sober again. "She's human enough for that. Or her body is, anyway."

Man, those were good scenes!

My all time fave is of course:

pg. 605
"I held you in my hand, Wanderer. And you were so beautiful."

pg. 291
"Her name is Wanda, not it. You will not touch her. Any mark
you leave on her, I will double on your worthless hide."

I just love Ian

I love this last "conversation" between Wanda and Jared...

"What can I give you, Wanda?"
"Give me a lie. Tell me, you want me to stay."

That gives me goosebumps all over...

And when Doc was going to put Wanderer out of Mel´s body and he told her she is the nobelst, purest creature he had ever met.... I was crying without an end

I do have to say that when Jared knocks Kyle out was pretty funny. Loved that part.

I also like all the brotherly banter that goes on between Ian and Kyle when Kyle brings Sunny and they are waiting for Jodi to wake up.

I just loved when Wanda and Melanie told each other I love you. After all the hostility, all they had been through, that made me cry.

I haven't completely finished the book yet (so I will probably be back to most more :D ) but one line that made me almost shoot soda out my nose is when Wanda is explaining how Mothers divide and every cell becomes a new "soul" and then someone (we don't know who) mutters "We got a bloody queen mother alien living with us. She could blow into a million new buggers at any moment."

i liked that one too.. it was pretty funny.. I think my other favorite part was when she realized that she loved Ian.. i am so glad she stayed with him.. :D

I think that this my foavorite. It forces Ian and Wanda t acknowledge what they are to each other.

"The strangest," he agreed.

Something about that thought just cracks me up. Bats, Flowers, Vultures, none of them were stranger than us.

I didn't think about it like that, that's hilarious!
