I have so many questions running around my brain during my second trip through NM. Bella just seems to go with the flow so much better with everyone in La Push that I wondered if Jacob and his buddies threw her a party with gifts would she pitch a fit? I don't think so. I think she believes she is on a level field and could accept gifts better from J's crowd. In Eclipse she didn't throw a fit for the bracelet did she? And sure it's better to give than receive but if you judge yourself so unworthy to receive what are you saying about the taste your gifter has for the company he keeps? Ouch!!!! What do you think?

I agree about Bella taking the gifts from Jacob and company better, but I think she would freak just the same about a party just for her.

Look at the prom - she loathed anything that calls attention to her - like dressing up and being on a dance floor.

I think she would shy from sitting with everyone looking at her opening presents no matter who they were from...
But she is so comfortable with them that maybe she wouldnt even notice it...
like if it was just done in the middle of them all hanging out together...

This has always bugged me also. While I can kinda see her point...it just bugged me that she couldn't just graciously accept a gift from Edward. I have NEVER said anything negative about Bella...I think she is great...she has her moments like everyone...but this is one thing that did bug me a bit.

I think she would be just as annoyed if Jacob spent money on her. The fact that Jake doesn't have a lot of money and has to make what he wants her to have I think is why she enjoys what he gives her.
She didnt' complain about the gift Edward gave her when he didn't by it.
I agree with Rhonda she just doesn't like the attention.

I think she would be a little frustuarated, because as much as she loves him, it would be hard for her to have to many things that reminded her of him...she is trying a "clean break" per say...

This is interesting, though. She won't let Edward spend money on her, even though he's got tons of it, because she feels they are already out of balance. Then again, I think you're right, since Jacob doesn't have much, she wouldn't like him to spend anything on her. It just seems like a bit of a contradiction. But I guess that's why the whole Jacob/Edward thing is like it is - they are total complete opposites. (Okay, now I'm rambling, sorry)

I think she would pitch a fit over any party thrown by anyone where she was the center of attention. I agree that she doesn't like the attention.

I agree with Kristen. I think she'd be fine with Jacob and the La Push gang throwing her a party. Mostly because I think it would be different. The party wouldn't be so formal. It would be hotdogs and a bonfire at the beach, where her presents were tossed to her. You know, " here bella, happy birthday". Not everyone would be staring at her.

It frustrates me how she is so ungracious sometimes. About her birthday, about prom. If it was really because the playing field was so unlevel wouldn't she just play along to make everyone happy?

I still love Bella though. She just has some character traits that annoy me.

I thought that she was just a little ungrateful, don't get me wrong, you're all right I'm sure that she just hates the fuss, but like Edward points out.. "Jacob is allowed to give you presents but I'm not", thats where I think she is a little ungrateful to the Cullens in the way that they go to the effort of arranging a party to celebrate her birthday, personally I would have just gritted my teeth and smiled and thank you'd the whole evening away, if someone offers me a gift then I accept as politely as I can, Bella just seems downright hostile with the whole present thing. That kind of bugged me a little about her, I mean don't all men do that in the beginning, offers little trinkets and stuff as presents?

Absolutely! I have no issues with diamonds myself. Especially antique diamond engagement rings, charms or say any other form of diamond jewelry. They are a girls best friend.

I think she has a harder time accepting from Edward because she feels unworthy of it, and him. She says all the time that she can't believe he loves her, she's so worried she's not pretty enough, etc. I think that it's easier with Jacob because she's more relaxed with him, doesn't feel so "out of his league."

Edward, bring some of those hand me downs my way!

I decided not to start a whole new post...maybe I should. Anyway, I am revamping Twilight and I read through the "Charlie giving her a truck thing." Not a whisper of indignation from her. This I find even more interesting than her taking a small gift from Jacob with some hesitation.
