I think that Alice probably wated all ofher classes,or most of them anyway with jasper who Edward does not fully trust around Bella especially since her birthday party.

"Gotcha," Alice said, and kissed him on the throat.

But didn't Jasper graduate? For the parts in New Moon and Eclipse where they are in school I would just assume that all of three of them would want at least one class together. I also dont think that Edward wouldn't care if they were together. Alice and Bella are like best friends or sisters. He trusts her enough to kidnap her when he is away hunting!

Yes, Jasper, Emmett, and Rosalie graduated the year before. Of course Edward trusts Alice completely. So, to answer why Alice and Bella have no classes together--will always be a mystery. Ask Stephenie.

I think it is just coincidence that they don't have classes together during their junior year. During their senior year, since Edward and Bella have just about every class together, I think that is why Alice and Bella don't have that many classes together. Doesn't it say somewhere that Carlisle thinks it is better if the "siblings" don't have classes together so that they can try to blend in more? At least I think I remember that. I could be wrong.

I think if I were Bella and I had every single class with Edward, I would fail everything because, well, he's distracting!!!

But back on subject, I would guess that it's just a coincidence that Bella and Alice don't have any classes together.

Well, I don't think Edward engineered it so Alice wouldn't have classes with them--that's not giving Alice enough credit. If she wanted those classes, trust me, she'd have them. What might have happened was that Alice chose not to intrude on their together time. She saw them at lunch and breaktime and before and after school; it's not like she needed their companionship during lessons, as well, and she knew they rarely found time to be with each other without someone's relative hanging around. (Yes, Edward spent nights at Bella's, but she was usually asleep).

It may have been Alice choosing not to be in their classes, out of consideration.

I don't think Edward had anything to do with it either.
It may just have been school policy not to put siblings in the same class.

I think that you just hit the proverbial nail on the head. My twins were never permitted to take classes together. I believe that most schools have that policy.

I think that it's probably not only school policy, but also an attempt by the Cullens to keep too much attention from themselves by having 2 of them in the same class.

YES! The first "ya'll" I've seen here. ok, sorry. I got a little excited.

That bothered me as well, especially if they were all in advanced classes, and in a school that small. However, the sibling situation is a different situation altogether.

I know that some elementary schools do separate twins and siblings, but not in the secondary grades. And it is a combination of district/school policy, schedule availability, and individual preference. It makes a huge difference as to what the parents want as well, so if Carlisle insisted that they have separate classes, then they would.

I'm also fairly sure that certain subjects would have forced them together. For instance, in a school that size, the calculus class would have probably been the only calculus class offered. And I'm wondering why Bella is taking Spanish in her Sr. year unless it's 4th yr and probably not in Forks HS. Ugh, she also had history and govt the same year? what a drag. No, what poor planning. Maybe some classes didn't transfer from Phoenix when she moved?

Oops. sorry for the rabbit trail.

One thing I've always been bothered by is that it seems like SM is trying to make a small school like a big school. If Forks HS really is as small as it is, Alice should have some classes with Bella. Also, I doubt a school of the size of Forks could offer as many classes of specific subjects that they wouldn't be in the same Calc class for example.

I went to a school of 500 and there was only 1 calc class offered every year becasue the student population couldn't support it. At a much bigger school though (of 1000 or more, which I never thought that Forks was) you would be able to have multiple calc classes.

I really think that SM has taken some artistic liberties with the size of the school and the ability to offer so many classes that the Cullen children wouldn't have more classes together.

I don't think it's a big deal. I attended a very small high school and I believe it's entirely possible that Alice and Bella wouldn't have classes together in their senior year, particularly if Alice deliberately chose her schedule so Bella and Edward could have that time together without her tagging along. At the end of NM and well into EC, Bella's chances to be with Edward are heavily restricted; school is their only "free" time, and even then they're surrounded by people and expected to attend to their studies. I've always thought Alice was being sensitive, arranging for them to have whatever little bubble of exclusivity they can find inside a classroom. If she were in their classes it would be strange for her to not sit with them, and then they wouldn't have any privacy at all.

My best friend and I tried to arrange classes together and rarely succeeded, despite being in a small school. Because she took German and I took Spanish (all four years), it threw everything off and our courses hardly ever coincided. BTW, our school offered two levels of Calculus which were both referred to as simply "Calculus." I just don't think it's a big deal that Bella and Alice don't share classes.
