Come on guys!! She's fab... at least she has reasons for being petty, jealous and mean... and she knows she's all of those things - it's not like she's in denial.

I really like her.

I like her too. She's a little conceited (okay, a lot conceited) but she deserves to be and she knows it (and we know it). I think her resentment of her "lifestyle" is refreshing. I mean, I love that the others have embraced it so much, but I think her attitude is equally valid. I really liked when she had her one-on-one with Bella and was so frank with her and so unashamed of how she felt.

oooo thats a great word -- unashamed.

and she is.

I hope to read more about her in the future... hey, maybe Stehenie can just give up her life completely and write a book on each of the characters...??? :o

I like Rosa and I feel like she has a right to feel the way she does. Think about what was taken away from her. How her soon to be husband just let the other men treat her, how he joined in , how many times she was raped over and over, and then she thought that she was dieing and Carlisle took her and changed her. I feel very sorry for her , my heart goes out to her. I think she like Bella but does agree with her wanting to be a vamp because to Rosa it was all taken away from her wiht a choose. Sorry if it doesnt make sence I am on pain polls right now.

I too like Rosalie. I guess I'm partial to her because she is different from the other Cullens; variety is the spice of life so they say. I don't necessarily agree with all of her views on things but I don't feel her heart(for lack of a better word) is in the wrong place, sometimes it comes out sounding as such. Also, for me, it makes the story even that much more interesting when you have diversity amongst the characters; especially when they are all in the same family. :D

I just thought of something else I really like about her. She's this vain "girly girl" (what, with the weddings every few years and such) and yet her hobby is working on cars?! That's so cool!

The car thing is really cool, especially in opposition to the girly girl thing she's got going. I suppose I'd have to give her more credit than in the beginning because we really only see her through Bella's eyes and from what Edward says about her (which is really very decent). She's got to have some more redeeming qualities, she's got Emmett for heaven's sake. (The phone call in NM didn't help sway the inital impression though.) Am I making any sense? I think I forgot where I was going with this.

Rosalie's car thing is way cool! Yeah, that's it.

I am a fan or Rosalie, especially after hearing her story. OF COURSE she has a hard time with Bella wanting to change... Bella has EVERYTHING she can never have, and is willingly going to give it up. How hard would that be to sit by and watch?

And really... I think there is more to her, she intrigues me.

I like Rosalie. After all, if Emmett loves her, there has to be more to her than we see! Emmett rocks, therefore Rosalie has to rock too! Yes, I love her "car" hobby too. Wonder where she learned it?

Ok, not that I dislike Rosalie, but let me throw this out there.....she is basically Lauren. Let say she was never changed into a vampire...she would still be jealous, incredibly shallow, self serving, and into image....I'm not trying to be flippant, but I don't see how getting raped and changed into a vampire against your will makes it OK to have character flaws. There are people all over the world who go through horrors such as hers, and while they will always be bitter about it, they have the desire to rise above it. I don't blame her for resenting her current vampire state, that's not what I am referring to. And I'm not even talking about her resentment to Bella for wanting to be a vampire...these things I kind of understand. (But then again, I wouldn't hate someone for making a choice that I wasn't able to make myself...such as being forced into an arranged marriage and hating someone who chooses to get married....does that make sense?) Anyways, I can certainly relate to the anger that Rosalie feels, but I don't think she has the right to act on them. A big theme in the Twilight series is choice...Rosalie has the choice to rise above her feelings and to treat Bella with some kindness, which it seems, she is starting to do, and I am loving that.

Just a thought, do you think Rosalie might have a little bit of a "holier than thou" attitude since she is the only one who has never tasted human blood? I know it sounds a little weird, we are talking vampires here.

Your comment about people everyday going through stuff & rising above it is a good one... but lets not forget that Rosalie is basically frozen in time from the day that happened to her. Her looks don't change. She can't get grief counseling. She can't exactly "grow" out of the experience. She blames the way she looks for what happened to her so while she likes her looks she knows they are responsible for her current misery. It's anever ending catch 22 for her. IMO, anyways.

You make a very good point about people getting over their trauma and horrific experiences, but my thinking is that since Rosalie's not a person, she never really had that opportunity to be human and struggle through a recovery period. Granted, decades upon decades of being immortal might help out, but every day, she's just the same being she was the night all that happened and I'm sure it's extremely frustrating to say the least.

And I want to deny that she's Lauren but I'm still digesting that. Gah! :D

Okay, i am really starting to like rosalie With all her faults. i just have one question. Do you think rosalie has any regrets for killing the 7-8 humans that she did? (i don't think so). I think this shows how hard it is for her to think she has done anything that is shall i say "wrong".
I think that she isn't going to change much, so take her or leave her.
She is still loyal and somewhat loving (althought love to her is more of a surface thing).
