I don't know, I am a HP fan too but I think that the twilight books are writen different. Even though they haven't "ended" so we are still guessing whats going to happen I can't but them down. I like to re read them and even when there is an end I don't think thats going to change. Maybe Im wrong but SM writing just draws you in so much. I love the HP books and i have read them many times too but its different. For me at least. But I do have that same problem. I re read the books or re watch the movies and think *OME* that person is going to die. I have a hard time with that.

I never read Harry Potter. I plan to someday though. Now that I've gotten over my aversion to fantasy. Ahh Twilight!

I lose my breath a little each time I think of this series being over. Even Stephenie's mention of Edward & Bella's story wrapping up in BD hurts. I can't imagine caring about another story line as much as I do Bella & Edward's. After I've read and reread BD I will wait with bated breath for Midnight Sun. I'm hoping that the Twilight movie will be able to tide me over until then.

I look forward to introducing this series to others and reliving the "first time" vicariously through them. Can't wait until my daughters are old enough to read them! That's a long time to wait though as they're 3 and 7 and I probably won't let them start the series until they're at least 16!

Is it possible for Stephenie to write another story line that will be as captivating as this one is? That would be the only thing that could save me from missing Edward too much...

Ok, so I love introducing the books to people also. I even recently emailed my BBFF from high school to tell her about them because I KNOW she would LOVE them. And I've been wondering this about introducing to our daughters...when do you think it is a good age? My almost 8 year old is asking because she sees me reading them (and because I got her into HP) but I told her she is WAY TOO YOUNG!! And she asked how old she had to be. I told her I would have to think about it. What are everyone's thoughts on this? (maybe there is another thread somewhere on this????). I think the youngest I would recommend for my own daughter is 16.

Which character from Harry Potter? Why don't I remember a "Bella?" Maybe I need to start that series over again as well...

Bellatrix Lestrange :)

 Oh...I've never heard her referred to that way....Ummm...that's weird. Thanks for clearing that up, cometomama! :D

dazzled4sure: My 9 year old daughter asked if she could read them too...I was like, absolutely not! I just think it's too complex for her. Plus it does have a little violence in them. But mostly because I think she's too young to swoon over Edward, and I'm worried that she would...I think 13 or 14 is an appropriate age...Most of the girls I've seen read it are 13 year olds...I gave one to a 15 year old for her birthday, so I really hope it's not considered too young!

Voldemort usually refers to her as Bella.

Well I have to say, I am glad we will have each other for support when it's over, but does obsession ever end? I think I will always be Twilighted, no matter how much time passes.

Agreed! Absolutely. I have never been on another forum so I don't know if it is normal to bond with everyone so well and feel so connected but I know there are SEVERAL people who will always be special to me long after the books are over *sniff sniff*. Thank you Steph, thank you Lisa for making that possible!

I dealt with the ends of Harry Potter, The Sopranos, and Harvey Birdman all within a few months of one another. I moped a little bit after each one because they'd kept me so entertained for long, but there's always something new to come along (besides that, I have tangible copies of the books, and the DVDs - so rereading/rewatching are always options that are open to me). These are works of fiction after all and life kind of just goes swirling past you if you don't get back into it fast. These will be fun while it lasts, but I'll take real life romance and adventure any day over fiction!

I agree with the age of 15/16 (I have a 16 yr old). Because of all of the emotion involved in this if they were any younger than that I don't think they could fully understand and appreciate the series. My daughter did and it opened up great discussions. She says she wants a boyfriend/husband like Edward. My 13-yr old is not reading them because she doesn't like big books and she is still a bit immature.

I hear music and it reminds me of Bella, Edward and Jacob. I've been listening to the song " Bleeding Love" by a UK artist named Leona Lewis and reminds me of Bella's obsession with Edward . The song says " I don't care what they say, I'm in love with you. They try to pull me away... my hearts crippled by the vein that I keep on closing........... I keep bleeding love

The words blood, vein, love, crazy..... remind me of themes of the books.
I can see this happening in the fourth book when Bella announces her wedding.

Am I the only one so obsessed

I know the song and thought exactly the same, the words are just so true to the feelings of the love that Bella has for Edward.

And no, you are not the only one obsessed :D

Breaking Dawn is under contract then she will do Midnight Sun. She has outlines for a couple more Twilight books but Bella isn't the author. She will possibly take a break from Twililght for a while to write other things after MS.

Thanks ladies for all your reflections and confessions.

I kept attributing my gloomy mood to the rainy Oregon weather, the fact the my husband has been so busy with work for the past two weeks we haven't had any real talk time together, and that my attempt at a third preganancy was unsuccesfful.

But I think all the signs are there and I am definitely suffering from Twilight withdrawal symptoms. Anyhow, I think I will get over it after BD is out. I remember my addiction to my horrible HS boyfriend and when he was gone I was over it in a few months. Will it take me a few months to get over this spell that SM has cast. I hope not. I guess, like Sex and the City, when it was over, I sighed but was on to more things.

I will live hopeful in the fact that The Host will be out in May (new addiction), BD will be out in the Fall and the movie will be my Christmas Present.

You can definitely revamp if you haven't already...it absolutely helps with with withdrawal symptoms!

When it is all over we will all have the boards to keep us company and let us keep discussing the series. When HP ended I was sort of disappointed to know that it was all over. However, HP did not have the strong pull for me as Twilight did. My SIL on the other hand is totally obssessed over HP and Twilight, I think she went through withdrawal when the HP series ended.
