This will be the place where we will discuss Wanderer- I didnt think I would be able to enjoy this character as much as I have... I actually idetnified more with her than I did with Melanie... Did anyone else feel the same?

Yes!! I loved Wanderer and cried for her the two times that I cried during the book. I think it is because she made such a journey in the book. Melanie knew so much more about what was happening to her and she did not have to find another path, she just had to be strong and keep up the struggle.

I struggled with her emotions for Jared. I found them unsettling much of the time and even had moments when I wished Melanie would go away so Wanderer could love Ian in the body she was in. I was very happy that Jared was so much a part of the outcome in the end, it kind of redeemed him in my eyes.

I actually saw a couple of lines that Bella said in Eclipse etc in this book

"Not for me you dont" etc etc.

Not that i'm saying Bella and Wanderer are similar characters, just an observation I made.

I found Wanderer to be an interesting character.

I have a theory that in the next book that sh'es going to go into Jodi's body, because Jodi just isnt going to wake up. I'll be interested to see how Wanderer is in that circumstance.

No, I think it is beautiful that Kyle is protecting and caring for Sunny. That he is repentant of the way he treated Wanderer because he is falling in love with "the enemy", Sunny who is inhabiting Jodi's body. I love how he protected Sunny when she was taken out and that he was involved with the decision to put her back in when it was clear that Jodi was gone. I don't think that would change in a sequel.

I thought that when the wanderer woke up she would be in Jodi's body...Then that would start a whole new rift between the brothers. Luckily, though she did not. I like the way SM ended it.

This was one of my most favorite scenes in the book; Kyle making the turn around and the cellular memory within Jodi that Sunny began to share.

I did not like Wanderer at first, but she grew on me and as she became Wanda and made her journey through the book I loved her as Melanie loved her. She and Ian are so perfect for one another and I loved that her essence loved Ian while the fusion of she and Mel in Mel's body loved Jared too. It was so well crafted.

I too found myself drawn to Wanderer and not at all to Melanie. I was uncomfortable for Wanda all the time, I related to her and I fell in love with Ian on her behalf well before she was able to see it for herself! I cried several times in it for Wanderer, for her selflessness and her objectivity, her forgiveness and even self-consciousness, but most of all her capacity to love.

I am totally with you on this. I was so aggrivated with Melanie so many times in the book but felt all my sympathies going out to Wanda. I wanted her to have everything at the end. Such a huge part of me wishes there had been more personal view-points from Melanie in the book so I could feel the same way about her. Then I wouldn't feel so concerned about whether or not Wanderer got what she REALLY wanted at the end.

I don't think so either, she found the perfect body and the others in the caves would probably shift back to hating and fearing her if they thought she was gonna just body hop. it would be very disconcerting to see someone, anyone you knew let alone an alien that could take over your own body in a different body several times. and at the end when she gets love Ian becuase there are no memories of another love, I don't think SM wouldn't take that from one of her characters once she has finally given them that gift after such a struggle-she loves them like we do. I know that it happened with edward and bella in NM but it didn't last and there was always a bit of uncertainty about it before Twilight.

I liked Wanderer from the beginning. Though I can't really imagine what it would be like to have someone like Melanie in my head, I was always amazed at how Wanderer handled everything. I love the growth her character went through. I grew to love her and I kept stressing because I couldn't figure out how this would be happy ending for everyone. (Especially poor Ian!) I knew Mel and Jared had to be together, because Wanda would never be happy to give Mel a partial existence. Wanda was, as Ian said, too self-sacrificing. I'm too selfish..I'm really not sure how I would handle her situation. I was amazed at her forgiving nature, because though I might have saved Kyle because he was human, I would have zero problem taking out the Seeker. I find that completely ironic, actually, but I hated her too! I really appreciate how she stayed true to her peaceful, loving and kind character. I kept waiting for her to become more "human," I guess. I was crying all over the place when I she was going to die! It seriously broke my heart. One question though...what did everyone think about the host chosen for her at the end?

I thought that pet was the perfect host for her because though she now looks youg it doesn't matter to ian or really to wanda what she looks like. She needed an unassuming appearance and that's just what she got. Plus it was important for her to get a body that didn't cost anyone else their life.

As long as she has a body--and it's pretty--I'm good to go! I don't foresee Ian having a problem with it....

I was surprised, I guess, just because Pet was such a contrast from Melanie. And maybe that's how it had to be to really separate their two identities. I was glad Ian didn't have any problem with her looks, since that would downplay his love for Wanderer the soul, versus her appearance as Melanie. I suppose the look of Pet matches her personality better. I guess I had a different idea in mind because looks wise, I'm much more like Melanie than Pet, so I just had a harder time identifying with being in that body. Haha...fortunately, I'll never have that problem!

I fell in love with Wanderer right from the start. I was secretly rooting for her over Melanie, before I knew how it would end. So glad she stuck around.

i loved the wanderer and her journey through the whole thing.

what i found is she had a sense of humor and had me cracking up the way she talked with them all at times. also how she talked with melanie and how they talked back and forth and their take on both sides.
