Although many Twilight articles contain familiar movie facts, it's articles like this that reveal some sort of new and refreshing insight straight from the actors themselves. I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees Bella as a strong character.

Variety wrote:
Stewart says it was Bella's novelty that made her want to play the part. "She doesn't fit into the obvious role of victim," she explains. "The power balance is fascinating between her and the vampire. It's funny that she is so unsure and tortured about this relationship and that she is surefooted and confident for no reason. Bella is a powerful character."

I like that she sees that in Bella's role, especially when there are so many people who see Bella as weak. I never saw her as weak, just a victim of circumstances who doesn't cave to the fact that there are all these things that are constantly putting her in danger.

Ditto to what you said Jess. I think she's a very strong character. I liked that article.
