I think it is too early to plan anything specific at this point. I mean bookstores still aren't sure what they are doing for Breaking Dawn's release in August. My stupid Borders is under the delusion that Borders as a company isn't doing a midnight release...*rolls eyes*

I think September is a good time to start calling movie theaters and asking them if they will be doing a midnight release for the movie. We can organize a tag team of phone calls.

I do know that the local Star Wars group was able to book their own theater at AMC River East movie complex for the last few SWs movies. However, they had enough in their group to buy out an entire theater. I don't think we have nearly enough people.

Also September will be about the time that the hotels should begin marketing their pre-Christmas weekend in Chicago rates for people that want to get hotel rooms. There are a lot of hotels in the area around the movie theater so it shouldn't be hard to find one that works for those that want to stay in a hotel.

So for the moment, let's say that it sounds like enough people are interested in movie gatherings in both NW Chicago Suburbs and downtown Chicago and that there are people willing to organize both. So there will be both. But we probably won't be able to get more specific than that until the fall.

LOL - SORRY!!! I will help however I can, you don't have to do it yourself. It just sounded like you had a few ideas brewing.

I emailed a few theatres in WI and IL bc I saw that the SLC girls had a theatre rented and I just wanted some basic info. I was told by a couple people that won't know if they will have the film until October so like you said, that's a long time off to be planning now.

But I'm thinking that all we need to do is pick a theatre and a hotel nearby. I don't think we will be renting out a whole theatre. Everyone can be responsible for purchasing their own tickets online and we can buddy up for hotel rooms. But we can figure that all out later.

Gurnee or Schuamburg will work for me. If we get a big group downtown I may be able to do that also.

I live right outside Chicago and would love to meet up with a bunch of you ladies downtown for a midnight showing!! Just tell me where and I'll be there!
Also, since I'm close to downtown I can help with the planning if needs be.

I was wondering if someone is planing a mini convetion for the movie release or book release?

I would like to do something like that when the movie comes out. A twilightmoms slumber party after the movie a double viewing of the movie?

I would love do to something here in Wisconsin - anything.

Lady Narcissa is mostly offline for the next couple weeks, but I think she was the tentative leader. I'm not sure anything more than just the initial idea has been floated as of yet.

We will make sure to submit to Team Alice when we start our planning! Like EsmeM48 said we don't have official plans yet but we hope to do something in Chicago. We just have to wait and see who we can rope into being our event leader!

Hi everyone! A few Twilight Moms suggested that I head over here, in my introductory post, so I decided to stop in.

I'm in Chicago, and I'm definitely going to see Twilight, so why not see it with a bunch of other fans? Downtown is better for me, because I don't drive. At this point, I'd probably do the movie and go home, but who knows what'll change my December?
