As I muddled my way through high school, music was pivitol for me. My life did (and still does) revolve around music. I giggled at the mix tapes. We all made them and I was the suckiest of the suckiest at making them. They all turned out like total crap! I giggled at all the rules Will had because I will be the first to admit, my mix tapes broke all his rules!

I love that their story focuses so much on music! I can't imagine a life without music! I even have a theme song!!!

Anyhow.. I am interested now in looking up and listening to all the music!

I agree. Songs bring back so many memories specific to events in ones life.

Don't Laugh!!! My theme song is Fleetwood Mac's "Don't Stop" Listening to it when I am bummed out ALWAYS helps me out! So many other songs have gotten me through so many different "times" (good and bad). I cannot tell you how much I rely on music. So so so so so important!

What is everyone else's theme song? Or should we start a separate thread here for that??

I would love it if someone would take the time to make me a mix. I think it would be the ultimate compliment. It also would give me some perspective on what a person thought of me.

I don't think I could come up with anything myself, though. I'd probably just have songs that were popular or that I liked. I am horrible with music.

I love the mix cd idea. That someone put so much thought and effort into making one as a gift is so endearing and sweet. I developed a bit of a crush on Will because of his mix cds. I need to look up the songs mentioned too. I'd love to have a Memoirs playlist! :D

When I was in high school my friend made me a mix tape with The Beatles song "I Will" on it. I love that song my favorite song writer Fran Healy of Travis said "sometimes songs are like bookmarks to your life." If there were a soundtrack to my life I Will would be on it. Beside the mix tape some of my favorite memories are going camping with my friends and sitting around the campfire playing guitar and sing songs "I Will" was always played. I am not a mom but when I babysit my neices & nephews I always sing it as a lullaby. My nephew William calls it his special song. So you can imagine how much I loved the whole "I Will" thing.

I LOVE music and I loved that music was such a big role in this book. I adored Will for making so many adorable mixed CD's. What a sweetie.

I remember making mixes in high school (on cassette of course). I took so much time putting together the "perfect songs" for my boyfriend and my friends who were going through hard times. I was glad to see that people still do that (at least Will does).

I love how the section about Naomi's new future, her realtionship with Will, her dad's marriage, and the Beatles Song were all "I Will". It was a very cool way of tying all the things together.

The emotions and sentiments that music bring to a relationship is priceless. Music can fix many things. Will and Naomi will be bound with these songs for life, it will always be something thay share.
