I am such an Edward fan....so it was easy to choose Edward over Jacob even when he left in NewMoon....But the distinction between IAN and Jared, wow it is hard to choose. But in the end, I think I choose IAN How about you?

I wish there was more Mel/Jared action in the book, but maybe that's the point. So you can feel that same frustration Wanda does. But I too would choose Ian!

I LOVE Ian. He is just amazing. I don't think there's any way you could NOT love him.

That said, I do like Jared too. There were times it was hard to like him, when he hurt Wanderer. But you also have to think about it from his standpoint. He knew that Mel had not made it out, and that the souls had gotten to her. So when he saw her body show up, all he could see was the alien. How heartbreaking that must have been for him. And none of them knew any souls, to know what they were really like. I think it was just really hard for him to break past that initial hatred of the alien soul who had taken his Mel.

I cried so hard when they were mean to Wanda. I still have a hard time forgiving Jared for hitting her and Mel even when the story progressed. Ian was so kind to Wanda and Mel.

I would have to say I am leaning more toward Ian then I am Jerad. Personally I found that Ian is sort of like Edward in the sense that he is kind and thinks about Wanderer's feeling more than his own. He is gentle and sweet. And I find myself grouping Jerad and Jacob. They both are amazing characters, you cant help but love them. But they are just a little more... brute-ish? If that makes any sense to you.

Okay, I'll be the first of come out as Team Jared. It's really bizarre to be on the other side of the majority. I guess this is what it feels like for the Team Jacob-ers. And it seemed like the obvious choice was Jared (to me) so when I came on here after finishing the book I was totally surprised.

I just kind of felt that Ian was a little colorless as a character. I felt like Jared had to work through more and overcome more emotions and prejudices in the book and I loved the flashbacks of him as happy Jared. It made me want to bring that side of him back.

I love Ian, he is the perfect fit for Wanda. I was happy to see them end up together. Ian seemed so protective and loving. It was so sweet. I just wanted to jump into the book and take Wanda's place. I never really was frustrated that there was not alot of Melanie/Jared's love story. I wanted tons more of Ian and Wanda.

I was choosing Ian as soon as he started being kind to her. And I was cheering for him the entire time. I was SO happy when they were able to be together. Wanderer didn't belong with Jared, just the body did. Wanderer belongs with Ian. I was so happy that they figured out a way to have her body belong to Ian. Made everything right.

I am not done yet, but I'm 99.9sure I will be choosing Ian. I can not choose between Jacob and Edward, I love them BOTH.

I'm 100% team Ian. It'd be interesting to add a poll to this thread to see if the team Ian's are also team Edward's and if the team Jared's are also team Jacob's.

I really lean more towards Ian, but Jared was good for Melanie in the end. I just felt so bad for Wanda during those times when Jared kept wanting Mel not her.
Ian understood Wanda better and gave her more respect then Jared ever did.
If Jared had been nicer sooner and gave Wanda more of a chance, I could have leaned more towards him.

I understand Jared's first reactions towards Wanderer... but I don't like his cruelty, so I like Ian a lot more and was happy when he ended up with Wanderer

I totally agree. It's funny because I think my husband would be more like Jared in this case, so I can understand how Jared could get that way.
But I can't help loving the way Ian turned out!
He was there for her through and through (even after he tried to kill her that one time).

I'm Team Ian as well. I just could never really attach myself to the character Jared. Ian was just so sweet to Wanderer. He reminded me of Jasper.

Ian all the way. I thought he was such a interesting character and really thought about everything he did instead of going along with everyone else.
