For me there really is no competition. 100% Team Ian.

I did like both Jared and Ian but my heart went to Ian. By the end I was most worried about how Ian was going to be happy, not Jared, Mel, or even Wanda. Hes just who I connected with the most.

I am Team Ian but I wonder how many find it hard to choose? When it came to Edward/Jacob I think there are very few fence sitters. Most fans are one of the other. But it seems in The Host that it is very hard to choose! In the end I loved Ian the most - especially when he told Wanderer he held her and she was beautiful *sigh - twice* but the passion that Jared has for Mel and the way he said good-bye to Wanderer *sigh, again* are just both so great! By the way, I am one of the strange ones that is TOTALLY Team Edward but I have a soft spot in my heart for Jacob. Not so good at picking just one, huh? Maybe that's why I married a great man that has a little of all 4 of them in him???

I won't choose, I love them both for two different reasons. I will agree that my soul goes to Ian 100%...and I melted when he said she was beautiful!!! But my body is torn between Jared's passion and Ian's unwavering love!

I was rooting for Ian for most of the book and am glad SM found a way for Wanda and Ian to be together in the end....
I wanted to post this earlier, but I had to sign up to be an "official Twilight mom" first

I am also a fan of both Ian and Jared. They have such difficult things to overcome, but Jared has the most turmoil to deal with, hence that is why he acts the way he does. Ian just has to get over the whole "alien" idea, where Jared has to get over that, plus the fact that his partner's body has been "stolen" by an alien, and every time he looks at her, his heart must absolutely break!!!

Jared wins my heart for being able to "get over it" so to speak, but Ian is my hero, for being Wanda's anchor. Ian has a beautiful soul himself. How does Steph put it? Ian is "this man who was kind enough to be a soul but strong as only a human could be." She is such a master at words!!!

This is really a perfect quote for Ian. I really like him, too. I like the turn he does with Wanda. First it was not so sure, if Ian was there to protect Wanderer with Jeb and then at last he falls in love so uncontitionally! *sigh*

When it came to the Host, I had no problem whatsoever. I am an Ian girl all the way. Jared wasn't even in the running. I tried to think about why that was since even most Ian girls seem to have at least a little love for Jared. I went around and around and I think Ian just reminds me of my DH. Well, except for the throtling me before our courtship part.

well I admit I haven't read the book all the way through (I'm bad about skipping through especially when I get an e-book - I did it with New Moon at first, skipping to the end so I could see Edward come back). But I have to say that I am a TEAM IAN ALL THE WAY!!!! I just think he's so sweet and wonderful, and he's the one that watches over Wanda from the beginning (along with Jeb) whereas Jared's so MEAN to her at first. Don't worry Team Jared's, I do understand why, and I do absolutely LOVE Mel and Jared together, they're freaking hott! But Ian.... I dunno he just wins my heart... I mean look at this, when he fianlly tells Wanda he loves her, even though Mel's been screaming iat her -

"It's not the face, but the expressions on it. It's not the voice, but what you say. It's nnot how you look in that body, but the things you do with it. YOU are beautiful"

And then the now famous quote of "I held you in my hand, Wanderer. And you were so beautiful"

Awwwww... break this single girl off a piece of that!!!! Edward is still my fantasy man, but as far as humans go, Ian tops em for me!

I have to give Stephenie a TON of credit here, for so smoothly creating a love square with 3 bodies and making us care about the characters without getting too bogged down in the craziness, science fiction idea of this - never once did I roll my eyes in this book, as I often do in books and movies with this genre. The Host doesn't top Twilight imo, but can definitely say that from her first non-vampire endeavor, Stephenie Meyer has a bright BRIGHT future as a writer, almost as bright Wanderer's soul was when Ian held her

Team Ian all the way! Jared is not a nice person... granted he had just lost his love but I couldn't get over him hitting Wanda/Mel. I do have a problem with violence, though, it was a little hard for me to get over Ian choking Wanda/Mel. But to me, Ian was not as invested in the situation like Jared was. At first, Wanda/Mel was nothing to Ian except a way to get caught and changed into an alien. But Mel was everything to Jared and he still hit her... but maybe that's why... He was hitting Wanda NOT Mel. Okay, so I talked myself out of not liking Jared. Jared's okay, but I still like Ian!

What a ramble.... sorry.

I love Ian and was happy when Wanda and Ian got together. That being said I can completely understand how Jared felt toward her. I don't think it would ever be possible for him to truly love her for what she did to Mel - with taking over her body.

My heart still belongs to Edward, but I definitely have to say I prefer Ian over Jared. As someone else mentioned earlier we get to see Ian fall for Wanda whereas Jared and Mel's relationship was already established (apart from these few flashbacks) and that's why I feel more for Ian then Jared. Also as someone else already pointed the beauty of this book was we don't really have to choose like with Edward and Jacob because here both end up with who they are meant to be with and I really liked that.

Ooooo that's a tough one, I kept waiting for Ian to be bad, because he was so PURELY GOOD! When I found out he wasn't ....oh man, I love me some Ian!!! Jared's great for Mel, but maybe I'm more like Wanda and Ian's love was something she developed on her own so It was easier to identify with he's also so giving and understanding...perfect!

I think he has a kind heart, and was able to accept Wanda for who she is from the get-go. I think he gave her the benefit of the doubt by looking for and seeing her goodness. I think he was the most courageous of them (next to Jeb) for sticking up for the underdog.
Any man who can do that under peer pressure gets my vote, hands down!

I would definitely pick team Ian, which is weird for me..I'm also team Jacob, and used to rooting for the underdog. Now it seems I'm on the "bigger team." I like Jared, especially toward the end, but by then, Ian had my heart.

I look forward to any future books, because obviously anything could happen. It wouldn't be a love triangle. Maybe love square?
