It really wouldn't make sense to me that they haven't figured on doing the rest of the movies and making that iron clad. There is so much anticipation about it, I'm sure they are working on it as we speak. It is important to get the movies finished before the cast ages too much too. I think especially Kristen Stewart. A little aging will work but she is still so young that by the time she is 21 she will have changed by leaps and bounds.

i have said this in another thread already,as much i loved BD and would love to see the book coming to life,i do worry it is not going to happen due to the loads of negative reviews and fans reactions towards the last book i think can make summit finished the movies as a trilogy at the end of eclipse,now HOW they will be able to finish everything for good at eclipse in a way that makes sence is what i want to know.

I think that it's so far in the future, Summit may not be ready for any sort of commitment on that. I think it will depend more on how the other movies do, than on how BD has done. But what do I know??

I totally agree MomOf5. I think it's too far away to start worrying and speculating about BD as a movie. We've got Twilight to get through and then the rest of the movies if they do them. I just can't wait for TWILIGHT!!!

No movie studio and certainly not one as small as Summit will stick their necks out until they see how this performs first. They hedge their bets signing the actors for sequels which is SOP. I would say this movie needs to make at least $60M. $80M would be much better for a greenlight for sequels. Box office is king and always will be. It's a business before it's anything else. So I suggest you go the first weekend, then wait and go the second weekend. The percentage drop between the first weekend and the second is almost as important as the totals it makes.

from what i understand they will be filming New Moon and Eclipse back to back the same way Lord of Rings was shot. I'm pretty sure New Moon is already in the super early stages of pre-production... the money and contracts stage.

and how about Breaking Dawn?? i mean they HAVE to do this one too,right?,right??

I think about this everyday! I want them to get started on the new movies, especially because Rob and Kristen aren't getting any younger! Lol!

We need the same cast, I don't how I will take it if they replace anyone, especially Edward!

I seriously cannot imagine they wouldn't WANT to do all 4 movies. I mean, look how many registered users there are on this forum alone? And we don't count for the SCADS of teens and tweens that will all go c-r-a-z-y for the movie, as they already do for the books. This is a money making landmine, as long as they have done their best with the first film, and don't alienate the fan base by straying too far from the book, IMO! I'm sure movie studios have people that lurk on boards like these, just to get a feel for the kind of hype they can expect. Here we are!!! We Want All 4!!!

Well New Moon is already up on IMDB and one of my buddies is all up in the producing side of the movie biz. She told me about the plans to film New Moon and Eclipse all at once from a reliable source.

I have not heard anything about Breaking Dawn, but like others have said its gonna be a while for that. We probably wont see Breaking Dawn on the screen until 2012 or 13. (I feel old now)

So far as I know from my sources at Summit they are extremely hopeful and are working toward the goal of at least two more. When you think about the last three books they could sort of be combined down to one for a visual of the movie. Still depends on box office but I would a Thanksgiving Day bump with no Harry Potter probably added on $20M to the bottom line. I really think $80M is doable and if it hits $100M that is a definite. Repeat business is the key and the second weekend percentage drop off are very important indicators.
