The Southern Vampire series by Charlaine Harris. I believe the first book is called Dead Until Dark. They're cute, kinda silly but fun. They do have some "frisky" moments in them, if you catch my drift but if that doesn't bother you then I definitely recommend them.

Frisky's good... thanks for the tip! Sometimes i get frustrated at the no-frisky policy edward adheres to....

I really liked Interview with a Vampire by Anne Rice. I was really into the series in my late teens and early twenties. They're good but can be a little racy too.

I absolutely adored Nora Robert's vampire trilogy. The titles are: Morrigan's Cross, Dance of the Gods, and Valley of the Silence. They are sooooo good! But have alot of sex in them.

Let me know if you read them! I'd love to talk to someone else about them! :D

I just finished this one! Thanks again Kirsten for the recommend! I just ordered the second one. Yes there is friskyness but also cute too! Just remember Steph's Vampires are different from others so don't try to compare them!

Ohmygoodness! AMY! ME TOO!!!! If I can't have Edward, I'd gladly take Cian any day!!! :D :D   Heck, I'll take a little Hoyt and Larkin on the side too!

Oh that's so awesome that you've read them! We'll have so much to discuss on the way to Forks, driving in our fancy Volvo! Cian is by far the second best vampire I've ever fantisized about! hehe... :D

Hoyt and Larkin are ok, but Cian is my favorite. He is so hot!

I had the first book at my house for months before I read it. It just didn't seem like my kind of book. One night I was desperate for something to read so I picked it up. I fell in love with Cian immediatly. Apparently I have a thing for vampires that don't hunt humans.

I'll have to re-read the series before Forks so we can gush during our 4 hour drive.

AmyO-

Oh yeah! I'll revamp them too sometime before Breaking Dawn comes out! ...I agree, while Larkin and Hoyt are hotties, they really are no match for Cian! He is like the adult version of Edward, in a way...I didn't think I'd be into the books either, as I'm really not a vampire freak...But I must admit, I was slightly obsessed with those books for a while, though no where near as much as I am with Twilight!

ooh! Im putting the Nora Roberts on my list! I'll read them too!

--- I adore Anne Rice's vampire series. the first 4 are great. I havn't read them in a long time... but thinking back, the only ones that I didnt enjoy as much are some of the books about the other characters instead of Lestat. Or the one with Lestat and the devil. ugh, that was just way too much. I enjoyed it- but not one I would re read like I did with the earlier ones.
Tales of a body thief was brilliant. Another kinda random Anne Rice Lestat book.
