Any good recommendations? Something you can't put down. I've tried a few things but just keep wanting to read Twilight, New Moon & Eclipse again.

Last night I picked up The Glass Lake - one of the books on Stephenie's recommended lists. I made it through 8 pages before returning to the internet to Twilight websites.
Today I read chapter 1 of Midnight Sun again. I'm still waiting for my friend to return New Moon - How can she only be half way through - she's had the book for 5 days!

I just re read Nanny Diaries.
Having been a nanny twice, it was a great - altho kinda sad - read.
But really entertaining.
And the movie comes out on DVD next week so I had been wanting to re read it again before seeing the movie.

anyone read the book and see the movie?

Though they are no Twilight...

I have just begun the 'Bitten' series by Kelley Armstrong--awesome books about werewolves--my husband and I are now fighting over who gets to read these first.

Also--The Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon--an incredible and engaging series of books! If you like Edward, you would love Jamie Fraser from this series!

Jodi Picoult's books are always great. "My Sister's Keeper" is, by far, her best work, but her others are good too.

I was a HUGE Anne Rice fan about 10 years ago... I read most of the Vampire Chronicals books... there are like 10 of them now I think. The ones that were really good were the first 3. After that they were good but not fantastic. I did however really like her other series... The Lives of The Mayfair Witches... or something, its been a decade I don't really remember. :)

~ Gypsy!

I too was a huge Anne Rice fan about 10 years ago! I gobbled them all up I couldnt get enough of the first few in the Vampire chronicles and the first book in the mayfair series (the witching hour?) is still one of my favorite reads. But - then she got weird.
Instead of telling stories she started preaching. At least thats how I felt.

I read Enders Game, by Orson Scott Card last month.
It was on Stephenie's list....actually her fav. was the 2nd book in the series, but I had to read the first one first. It was ok. A little too sci-fi for me.
It's about boys who are genusis' who go to this battle school...and this one kid, Ender, his "journey". Again, it was an OK read. I thought boys would really like this book. Maybe when my son is older he will want to read it.

I bought the 2nd one, Speaker for the Dead, because I thought I wouldn't want to put the 1st down...haha...so now I just need to make myself read that one.

I really need to lower my expectations. I want another book series that I can fall in love with. I'm on day 2 without reading a Twilight book. Doesn't mean I haven't gone to her site, this site, and listened to the playlist a million times.

Kelly,

I am with you. It has been almost a week since I had my last re-vamping....Sounding more and more like an AA meeting??? Hehehe. I am trying so hard to hold out. I am getting my own copies for Christmas and am not supposed to read them before that! I must say, it has been difficult! I thought once I wasn't re-vamping the books again, that I would get my life back and maybe the laundry would get done. WRONG! I am obsessed now with this siteand staying in touch with the books even though I am not reading them. I am still not getting anything done. I just don't know what I am gonna do with myself?

I'm reading "Confessions of an ugly step sister" but I keep going back to the twilight books.

I don't know about you guys but when i loan them out i get kind of bugged if they don't read them quickly. I miss them like they're my children and I don't like them having slumber parties. Also, if you aren't going to read them within a couple days then I figure you just don't deserve them at all.

Seriously, losing my mind.

I am trying so hard not to laugh out loud and wake my kids up right now, cuz I am totally with you on this...I loaned out my Book 1 to a woman at work and she has had it for like over a month now! I had to go buy a new one just to feel better that I had it! Like you said, it's like one of my children is missing, I tried to replace it but it's just not the same! I WANT MY DAMN BOOK BACK!!! I don't even think she has read it at all. But last time I asked if she was done with it she said "oh yes it was really good. ----- I'm like thinking....That's IT? It was "really good"??? Are you freakin' insane??? Do you realize WHO you're trying to fool here???

Anyway...I still don't have it back!!! And I think about it everyday! I'm about to "phase" and get violent!

Lisa,

You crack me up! I am waiting for the top story on the news to be "A Utah mom went postal on a co-worker late yesterdayafternoon. The co-worker borrowed a book and failed to return it in a timely manner. Sources on the scene said the mom was ranting about "one of her children missing" and "wanting her DAMN book back". What could make a seemingly normal mom lose it over a book. More at 10:00!

Hehehehe!
