Hi,

I'm not a Sherrilyn Kenyon expert. I've only just started reading her. I am enjoying the books, but unfortunately someone started me on The Dream Hunter first, which is a spin off. I've found I got lost in a lot of the references, so I've got the first Dark Hunter and I'm trying again. I do find a lot of the Greek mythology is very interesting, but I've had to buy the Dark Hunter Companion to go with. I am really enjoying Sherrilyn though.

She is racy but if you can handle Black Daggers (which I love by the way) then you can definately handle the Dark Hunters.

Another couple of authors you could try are Kelley Armstrong - Bitten (werewolves) and Lara Adrian - Kiss of Midnight (vamps).

Thanks!! I have seen the Dream ones too. I think my cousin really likes that Dark Hunter ones and she has been trying to get me to read them for a long time. I think I will pick up the first few next time I am in the bookstore and give them a try!

You're welcome. Keep the thread going and we can discuss them as we read them if you like!

Hello ladies!

I started Fantasy Lover last night... whew Julian!!!!

I'm looking forward to these books a lot.

My plan is to read 2 at a time alternating with two of the Anita Blake books.

When series are more than 6 or 7 books long I find if I marathon through them I get irritated at repeated plot scenarios and story arc's and start thinking things like "Duh. You always have to end up killing the guy who comes on to you in the bar --- why is that? Why not stop going to bars?" and things like that... sooooooo.

Back to my reading. Glad this topic is here. 8) I'll check in while reading!!!

I borrowed all of them from my cousin, but I haven't started them yet. I bought the Libba Bray series just before that and started the 1st one, but if it doesn't pick up soon I am going to have to ditch those for now and start on the Dark Hunter ones.

Really? Is it good? I don't have the companion book but have read the first 4 in the series.

I love the mythology in them.

Utterly, I think the companion book is great for references with what everything is and stuff. I am still on the weapons, I got caught up with Julian. He sort of took control of me!!! LOL

and holy aphrodite!!! i just finished the first book and want me some Julian a la carte for dinner. holy smokes. I think I have thing for wounded male seeking retribution and finding true love with a "normal" woman. I guess it is the female fantasy... ahhh.....

well I am still on my marathon read... and I have to say Zarek is awesome.. I like Kyrian too... and Julian... whoa!!1

Anyway, I am starting the one about Wulf right now. The companion was great and Sherrilyn talked about how she writes all the time and doesn't believe in waiting or taking off time to write, so that makes me happy. I hate to have to wait it out!!!

So is anyone as far as me in the books? and has anyone visited the sites?

www.dark-hunter.com etc?

I just put the first of this series on reserve at the library. In the meantime, I've started Kiss of Midnight by Lara Adrian. Has anyone else read this? I'm trying to give it a chance, but after the BDB series, it's just falling short. I'm hoping the Sherrilyn Kenyon books will be better.
