I know that this is not as exciting as visiting Oxbox park today; however I did come across the second crew and a set using the stunt vampires.
After a weekend cooped up in the house from being sick; my Mom and I drove out to Silver Falls State Park; East of Salem. We were driving around the park and came across Summit signs. I was just telling my Mom how I was surprised that Silver Falls State Park was not being used for some of the forest scenes of Twilight. I was ecstatic to see the signs.
Of course we drove as far as we could go to see anything; the sign indicated crew parking. We found nothing in the area. Yet my Mom mentioned that she saw a Summit sign along the main drive into the park. So we doubled back and found the sign. This time we were lucky; we came across some rented trucks and a generator with a yellow “to set” sign. I pulled over and jumped out of the car with my cell phone (stupid me didn’t bring my camera; it was just suppose to be a nice, normal, non-exciting Sunday drive). I saw some set equipment back into the forest and went to investigate.
As I started walking through the forest I ran into a security guard; young guy that looked like he could be in the movie; and asked him some questions. He gave me plenty of information including that they were filming Monday (today).
Today I drove out to the set. Nobody but crew was around. The head crewman told me they were the second crew and were working with the stunt people while the first crew were at Oxbow Park. I couldn’t see much of the set with all the trailers and equipment than I could on Sunday; though I knew what they were doing. As we were waiting to drive through I saw the stuntman for James. He looks awesome. He looked at me a few times; he didn’t seem thrilled that we were there so I didn’t stop to talk with him (I know I'm a wimp); though he walked right by my car door. (I did take a picture of him but it didn't turn out very well)
As we drove further to the falls (we wanted to check out the Silver Creek Falls themselves) we came across the police cruiser and the Volvo. I was so excited. The cars were parked in a random spot – the side of a road – really not near anything. I don’t understand why they were parked where they were. Lucky for me; I was able to check them out and got some great pictures.
I’m still sick tomorrow and off work (darn) so I’ll have to drive up and see if anything else is going on; especially to see if they will be using the cars. I do know what they were filming at the set but I don’t want to give anything away in case it may spoil the movie. It sounds pretty cool though.
