Not sure where to put this, move it if need be.

I just wanted to share.... my daughter Lily was part of the Rose Petal Princess pageant, part of the Miss America organization.

(she is under the contestants section....princess court...Lily!)
She escorted a contestant in the Miss Portland pageant tonight. Her contestant , Nichole Cooper, won Miss Multnomah County....so Lily will get the incredible opportunity to escort her to the Miss Oregon pageant. Should Nichole win there, Lily will get to go to Miss America in Las Vegas with her.

I have to say, Nichole is an OUTSTANDING woman! She is just beautiful!
She sang Oleta Adam's Get Here for her talent....and it moved me to tears. I have never heard such an amazing voice in my life! My husband (who is NEVER moved by anything) said the hairs on his arms were standing up. She was incredibly kind to my little girl...what an great role model!!!

I am so proud of Lily and how well she did sitting through a 4 hour pageant gracefully. She introduced herself on stage on the microphone and received her own crown. I will have to post pictures later.

That's so great Tara.
Lily just loves it. She has such a good time. This is only our 2nd year participating in pageants. They are all natural pageants, no glitz for us.
She has another the end of May and the Miss Oregon pageant the end of June.

Shameless MOM Brag :D

Tomorrow my DD will be getting an award for getting A's all year plus the reading the most books in 5th grade :D

I am so proud of her - this year she read all the Harry Potter Books, Inkheart and InkSpell, The Magyk series, Kindom Keepers and many others :D ( no she has not read Twilight yet - I told her she can read them when she turns 12 in the fall :wink: )

So share the news. Brag along with me on your kid's school achievements :D

Thanks :D She has worked really hard. We're going to go to Sonic afterwards -She wants a malt and I think I will have a Mocha Java Chiller :wink: Yummy :D

my daughter said that she was also getting an award for having good grades on her report card..i'm really happy for her.. she was having a really hard time with math at the beginning of the year she was failing and now she has an A+..

Thanks for opening this thread. It's nice to shout out about our kiddos.

This morning my son got an award for "top 10" math students in first grade. I was so happy for him. Not sure where he got that math gene though? :)
