*waves* Hi! This seems to be a great forum here, and of course I'm thrilled you're reading CoB. I'll try not to interfere in the discussion in any way, and stick to this thread exclusively, but I'm happy to answer any questions anyone has.
Thanks!
Cassandra

HI!! *Waves*
I so LOVE your books.
What do you think of the discussions that compare your books to other popular genre books? _________________ "I have to step out for a second...Don't do anything funny while I'm gone." - Emmett

I just finished the book and it is Fantastic! I am dying to get my hands on City Of Ashes now, I have looked in 3 places for it and have two more options here in town before I break down and order it online. I just don't want to wait for it! _________________

Cassandra!
I am so excited you came by to visit I am planning on meeting you next week at one of the Arizona signings you are doing with Lisa McMann.
My question is this:
How did you come up the idea for these books? And also where did you come up with them giving themselves the "tattoos" of the runes ( I really dig tattoos... they make me all weak kneed and swoony). _________________

Hi! I think those discussions are inevitable. Genre books always share qualities with each other, because that's what being in a genre *means.* I think comparing genre books with each other gives people a context in which to discuss those books and some sense of what genre tradition/aesthetic a particular book might contain.

I have to admit I picked up CoB a few times and put it back until this last time (before it was announced as book of the month). After reading it I couldn't wait for CoA. Thank you for adding to my love for fictional male characters. First it was Edward and now Jace has taken his place right next to him.
Question: Are Jace and Clary really brother and sister and is Valentine really their father? No I kid, I know you must get this question a lot. I am (im)patiently waiting for CoG.
On a serious note: Do you know if there is any talk about turning the series into a movie?
Who was the model, if any, used for the cover of CoB?
In CoA why would the Inquisitor think that Valentine would love his son enough to hand over the Mortal Instruments in exchange for Jace? Didn't she see what kind of a person he was in the past?
Oh yeah on another note because there were a few of us obsessing over CoB over here on the TM board I created the following forum
http://themortalinstrumentsseries.freeforums.org/jace-s-and-clary-s-relationship-spoilers-t18-15.html
I had to give the TM's another place to start a new obsession.
Thanks for your time!

Wow! I'm on my second read-through of CoB; I'm waiting for CoA to still be available at the library (I'm number 2 on the list!). This is one I have to read through twice because it took my brain a while to get used to the new ideas of the Shadow Hunter world. And now that I'm reading it again, I keep thinking, DUH! Why didn't I see that the first time???
The only question I can think of now (and it probably has an obvious answer, too) is how could Simon see the faded rune "scars" on Jocelyn's body if he's just a mundane?
This is great...I'll definitely be checking back on this thread throughout the day! _________________ Beck

Oh man, I am so excited you are here answering these questions. Your books are incredible. They have everything and a lot to make you stop and say "WHAT?". When I read that scene in City of Ashes in Jace's bedroom after their trip to the Seelie Court....*OME*....the imagery with the steam coming out of the bathroom and Jace saying "We can keep it a secret".....I about hit the floor. I told 5 people that night alone that they had to read the books.
So here's my question.
In terms of Clary and the ever so hot Jace being related....do you find it interesting that you could write something so uncomfortable as incest into the story and have so many people wanting to look past it just so they could be together? I personally have disregarded all points of my moral compass so that I could sit and hope that they end up together....Regardless.
I can't wait for City of Glass. Cant wait. Cant wait. Cant wait. Any more stories from you on the horizon after that?
Thanks for taking the time to come and talk to us.
We love ya. _________________ "I'm here, which, roughly translated, means I'd rather die than stay away from you."
