For me, even if Alice had never shown up in NM, I wouldn't have been happy with a Jacob / Bella ending unless Bella went through a massive character change.
All throughout NM, she mentions things that imply that she's knowingly using Jacob as a stand-in for Edward. In some instances, like the scene before Alice appears, she makes it clear that even if she accepts Jacob's love, she will still hold a large chunk back that belongs to Edward.
That's something I find hard accept for Jacob. He deserves a love that is all about him and not have some ghost / vampire hanging around in the shadows.
So, yes. I am Pro Jacob and have never been, never will be Pro Jacob and Bella. And I'm howling proud of that fact. I can safely say that if this were real life, I'd be hounding Jacob all day, getting on his nerves like Leah did and telling him to give up on Bella and go after kctjohnson instead. _________________ Thank you, Squee_Attack, for the avatar

Let's see.... after reading NM, I just felt bad for Jake. Bella had gone off to "save" Edward from killing himself (this is something that annoyed me, but that's another story) so at that point, I saw Bella as pretty much hopeless in terms of her attachment to Edward. They're never going to part, even though I had wished she realized how indispensable Jacob is in her life. But she chose her path. It didn't take reading Eclipse that to know she was going to end up with Edward.
That said, although I did not root for a Jacob/Bella relationship anymore, I can say with absolute certainty that I am Pro-Jacob. I think the definition of Pro-Jacob can be categorized in at least three ways:
1. Wanting Jacob and Bella to end up together
or
2. Wanting all the happiness for Jacob. Heck, I hope Jacob ends up happier than Edward and Bella.
or
3. I want all of them to be happy. I want Edward and Bella together, and I want Jacob to find the person who will love him as he deserves.
Note that Type 3 is most likely a Switzerland, but I think we can count them as Pro-Jacob as well. I personally fall in the Type 2 category. |

It seems that some of you enjoy Native American culture. I was wondering if any of you are into the writing of Sherman Alexie, who wrote "The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven?" He's a Native American writer from the Coeur d'Alene Indian Reservation in Washington State. I started a thread for him in the books area:

Oh Zanna I love Adam Beach. Talk about huggability factor! He's been good in everything I've seen him in.
(I believe that by the time the Chicago get-together for the concert takes place, I will have my Class M license and will be able to premiere my "other" jacket...along with riding the bike to the event...and I cannot wait!) _________________ "I *need* you to understand. Jacob had become a part of me, and there was no changing that now.

Jacob on a motorcycle equals true happiness. I can just invision him riding up to me, asking me if I need a lift. I guess I'll be looking at all the riders that way now. Thanks girls! _________________
