Bella notices that Jacob is furrier that the rest of the pack. Jacob tells her that it is because his hair is longer. Jacobs was Chin lenght at that point in time. All the other boys cropped thier hair after the change. I can't find where Leah's hairstyle is ever mentioned. I envisioned her with long black hair in the begining. But maybe it was already short. Any one know?

Good question. I never thought about it. I'm thinking she didn't cut her hair and I always imagined her with long hair. So, she is probably really furry too.

That is a great question and I've not seen that answer posted anywhere from Stephenie. I too imagine her with long hair, but it couldn't be longer than Jacob's, because in Eclipse it says that Jacob is the furriest. I wonder if we can find that answer somewhere or maybe Stephenie can answer it for us.

I've also wondered when Leah changed if she got tall and broad like the boys did. That would seriously bother me...I'm only 5'2''...to suddenly tower over everyone and be more than average-muscled for a woman. If all the Quileute boys look like they're on hormone therapy, how does that apply to Leah? I think it'd be way more obvious in a woman but there's no mention of her physique being changed. Bella was genuinely surprised when Edward told her Leah was a wolf. Thoughts?

"There was a light gray wolf that was much smaller than the others, the hackles on the back of his neck raised in distaste."

I assume that the light gray one is Leah - maybe because she is a female, her size didn't change that much. At least, for her sake, I hope that she doesn't get all burly...that would be unfortunate.

I assumed that this was Leah as well.

I'm guessing she would have short hair since Jacob is described as having the longest coat in the pack:

"At least Jacob did seem to be well equipped for the snow, better even than the others in his pack with his thicker, longer, shaggy russet fur." p.488 Eclipse

I'd say Jacob was "well equipped" for ANY occasion!

Well in Chapter 20, I think Edward confirms it was Leah. I have always wondered about her hair as well.
