I had promised myself I wouldn't read the Host. I was not interested because of the sci-fi theme, but more because I was worried,"what if I become as obsessed with it as I am with The Twilight series?" In many ways I don't like how it has taken over my free time and thoughts.

I didn't read the Host excerpt till tonight, even though it came out like a week or two ago. I'm already hooked. I'm so sad to know I'll never be free of this addiction, even if I could get over the Twilight books. It sounds wonderful, and Jared already gets to me.

I truly hope I never "get over" the Twilight books. They bring me so much joy. I can't imagine my world with out them now. (I know I'm sick, but I love it) :)

I can't wait! She is such a great writer and I want to support her in every way possible so that she keeps writing! Someday, sadly, the Twilight series will end and though we can read them over and over, won't we be happy to have another book (possible series) by Stephenie to pass our days with?

I also love series... when I was a kid I would not read the last chapter of books that I loved because I did not want them to end. With a series, you know that it is not over yet. I cried when Harry Potter ended, and I will when Twilight is done too, but I will be happy that it is REALLY long and I can go back and read it all again!

I am really excited for The Host to come out. I really can't wait. I'm a sci-fi freak and love Stephenie's work so I believe it is going to be a wonderful book. I don't think reading The Host will be cheating on the Twilight series. I believe it may just fuel an entire new obsession.

Do you look forward to a new obsession? I feel tormented and guilty about all the time my Twilight obsession takes. I wish it would wear down already. So while I know I will read The Host and love it, I wish I could get over this stuff and that I could stop obsessing. Maybe I should just enjoy it while it lasts. I feel like I should be doing housework instead of chatting online, does that make sense? I have guilt, but I can't seem to stop it.

I always searched for, found, unwrapped & re-wrapped my Christmas presents before Christmas.

I can TOTALLY relate about now knowing if you want to start another book that you have to wait for the rest of the series....several years ago I was reading a series and 2 books were out but eventually there would be 6 or 7...I couldn't stand it and decided I would wait til they were all out....well....I then had little kids and LOTS of things that kept me busy so I never did read the series . When the friend that introduced me to Twilight said there were 3 books and the 4th would be coming out in about a year...I hesitated for a minute....but now I am obviously SOOOOO glad that I read it (them). I think that I am grateful for the Host and just CAN'T wait for it!

I've been thinking about it, and I really REALLY enjoyed the chapter of The Host that Stephenie posted--which has given me very mixed feelings. Now, I don't know if I want to read the whole book.

Before you think I'm nuts, let me explain why. I was (lucky?) to discover the Twilight series just before Eclipse came out. That meant I finished Twilight and had New Moon just waiting for me. When I'd finished that, I had Eclipse to look forward to. But now I've been on the edge of my seat waiting for Breaking Dawn . . . and I can't stand it! I'm an addict with no smack available! It's like Harry Potter all over again!

I'm not sure I can take another series that is going to torment me for years! Part of me asks if it would be better to wait until all the books are out!
Of course, I don't have that kind of self control, but AAGGGGHHH!! Does Stephenie know what she's doing to me???

I totally agree BD is the only one that I have had to wait for also. I have the same feelings maybe I will just wait until they all come out becasue I don't think I can go through this again. I really do want to read it I just don't think I can until she is done with them.

I'm not a science fiction person but I will be reading the Host! I wasn't a vampire person either and now look at me. I will read any and everything Stephenie writes!
