Stephenie asks:
"Were there any Jane Austen characters that you wished had made it into Enthusiasm?"

I wished the father figure had been more like Elizabeth's quirky dad in Pride and prejudice. We really didn't get to much info on him.

Would have liked to see Elizabeth's mother in Enthusiasm, maybe as Ashleigh's mom? Even though she was flaky, nagging and relentless, there was something entertaining about Mrs. Bennett!

Mrs. Bennett would have been a kick. She is very entertaining.

I can't think of anyone I really missed. I guess I would say I would have like to have seen some more spunk from Julie. I like her a lot, but she tends to let everyone walk all over her. I would have liked to see her have more of Elizabeth's character.

I agree, Mr. and Mrs. Bennett. I love them, especially their relationship, and the way that Mr. Bennett loves Elizabeth so much.

Also it would have been fun if there was a Colonel Brandon character in there (I love him!). Someone who at first seemed like a dud, but later was discovered to be an amazing guy.

Wasn't that character kind of Ned? At least from Ashleigh's point of view.

Hmmm, yes Mr. and Mrs. Bennett are great characters. I'm gald Lydia wasn't in it. What about Elizabeth, I didn't see her in Julia, or Ashleigh.

I think a Mrs. Bennet type character would have been perfect! The mom in this book really didn't offer anything supportive or of substance to the books accept for her "positive and supporting" attitude.
