I didn't really see this eleswhere so I hope its an ok topic. I'm a huge Jasper fanggirl, in fact I think I'm more in love with him than any of the other guys in the book , or even characters. But I'm curious, am I the only one that pictured him talking with a slight southern drawl in the books? I mean I'm from texas, and even if I deny it , I have a slur to my voice, and I just ALWAYS, even after all his years elsewhere, pictured him with that drawl, I lived in mexico for 5 years and the drawl never went away. I dunno, my dream Jasper has always been RYAN GOSLING ala NOTEBOOK, that voice and the manners, just screams Jazz to me.

I know!! I am a big Civil War buff too. So naturally I just loved Jasper! I suppose he could lose his accent since he is over 100s old! Let's hope not thought
So it looks like they did give him the BIG "Texas" hair for the movie

I have always imagined Jasper with a slight southern drawl at home - like Carlisle, I think he can turn off his accent if needed to blend in.

I am blessed to have a born and raised Texan for a husband - his slight drawl was the first thing that caught my attention - I have lived in Texas for about 13 years now (my family moved here from England when I was 14 for my father's business). I was immediately taken by the lovely accents here - as most people from around here are taken with mine!

I've never even been to Texas but I do love Jasper and a Texas drawl. I had a friend from Texas and his drawl was just so sexy...come to think of it so was he! Anyway, I always heard a little drawl in Jasper's voice when reading the series. :D

I have heard that Stephenie says Carlisle has a British accent when he is at home with the family but fakes an American one in public....so ABSOLUTELY why shouldn't Jasper keep his twang! I think accents are hot.........

I always imagined Jasper with a southern drawl. When Jasper is telling Bella his story and Alice joins in and tells how he tipped his hat to her, I picture him speaking in a smooth, easy southern drawl as he addresses her. The perfect gentleman!

To be honest, I didn't really have a good picture in mind when I read about Jasper (other than tall and blond). In fact, Jasper was the character I was least invested in (of the male Cullens, anyway), not that I didn't like him, but that I didn't get drawn into his character as much as some others. Probably because I was in such a rush to finish the books, I missed some important descriptions. But when I do reread it, I think I will imagine a southern drawl kind of like Matthew McConaughey and looking like Ryan Gosling (love that idea by the way kisuvampyr), then I'm pretty sure I'll be a Jasper convert. I think when I read the books, though, I pictured all the characters a little older than they were supposed to be, the actor that is casted as Jasper, while cute, just seems too small and baby-faced for my Jasper, but I will be interested to see if he has the southern accent.

Yea, I really like Jackson but, he does look too baby faced. Ryan is still my Jasper in my mind, just seems so perfect I dunno. And Matt Macs voice! you are so right, just like that.
