Ok, I ended up getting to see them on this tour after all! Yea! I was able to make the July 25th show in Philadelphia, and it was amazing. If they are coming near any of you, go! They had a great set list.

Cool, I am going to see them at the Washington DC show.

I went to the DC show!!! I thought it was great! I was so jealous of the people sitting in the section that they ran out to and played a few songs!

A little update on Coldplay....

Coldplay To Release EP for Christmas, Then Next Album For 2009
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you've been on a different planet for the last 3 weeks, here's a recap of what you need to know about Coldplay's forthcoming studio projects...

Just before hitting the road again for their current European tour, Coldplay stopped by BBC Radio's "6 Music" for a sit-down in which they revealed their next studio projects. The chat was with "6 Music" host Steve Lamacq [pictured] and, for some reason, R.E.M. frontman and friend of Coldplay Michael Stipe. When Stipe asked Coldplay frontman Chris Martin about rumors of a new Coldplay record coming out this year, Martin said, "We're going to put an EP out at Christmas called Prospekt's March, and we're going to release an album next December."

Martin asked Coldplay drummer Will Champion, "Is it [the EP] called Prospekt's Songs or Prospekt's March?" before asking Stipe his preference. Stipe preferred the latter, and the band concurred.

According to a Rock & Roll Daily report, the tentatively titled EP will feature leftovers from Coldplay's sessions with Brian Eno for Viva la Vida. One of the songs expected to appear on the EP is "Luna", the collaboration with Kylie Minogue that the band originally deemed too "sexy." Martin told "6 Music" that the EP will come out on December 26 or "something like that."

Martin followed the news about the EP with the announcement that Coldplay's fifth studio album will be ready "by November 2009 to end the decade." After that record comes out, Martin said the band might lay low for a while: "And then we're gonna be 'Whooosh!' 'Where've they gone?' Just like Keyser Söze."

I've always been really into the Dave Matthews Band, so I didn't really give Coldplay a fair chance. I always liked a few of their songs, but couldn't really get into them. Then, by chance I was messing around on iTunes downloading some music and came across Coldplay. I started listening to there stuff. I mean "really listening". What an idiot I've been! Their music is amazing and beautiful. Needless to say, I downloaded all of their albums. Now they are on my iPod and I atleast listen to them once a day. I'm really loving their new album and Clocks is my favorite song by them.

You've got some of my favorites in there as well. :) I especially love:

Yellow
In My Place
Warning Sign
God Put A Smile Upon Your Face
The Scientist
Clocks
Amsterdam
Fix You

I'm so excited to have tickets for their show at the Palace on Nov. 3. Though I'm still trying to win front row tickets from our local radio station. ;)

Ok it was AMAZING you simply must see them. Seriously I think they are even better live then on the studio tracks. Yes, I just saw them like 3 1/2 months ago but I had to go again. They opened with Violet hill, but they played all the songs you wanted to hear! The closed with Yellow during the encore. I have two pics for you below :) My SIL was like well now I totally understand why you wanted to see them again. She said she would want to see them again too sometime.

Those pictures are AWESOME! Thanks for sharing! I agree about how great they are live. Their version of "Yellow" has such an incredible energy live.

So I had to let you all know that in SLC the radio station 101.9 The End is auctioning off a Piano Lesson from Chris Martin. The money raised is going to go to the Utah Youth Village. Here is the link with more information.

I don't know why I haven't won the lotto yet. I would buy this private piano lesson with Chris and I would also be going on more twilight related trips :)

amydod, thanks for sharing the pics. :) I saw them Monday night at the Palace of Auburn Hills in Michigan...what an awesome show! Our seats were good...in the lower bowl just a few rows off main floor. Not quite close enough to get good pics but I don't think I sat down through the entire show. Great setlist, the lighting and effects were amazing as usual, and Chris and his sense of humor were in top form!
