I missed the part when Edward took a bite of the pizza at lunch. I quess he was trying to blend in. I suppose he got sick after that.

Also I missed the part where it turns out that James was the leader of the coven.

It is very interesting when you read it again. I took my time and tryed to get all of the details.

Another thing I just realized is the forshadowing in the scene where Edward/Alice/Bella/Emmett are in the Jeep speeding away from the meadow after meeting James and Co. Alice says to Edward that there is 'another way' and he gets really upset at Alice. She meant that he could bite Bella and turn her into a vampire and that would make James stop hunting her. It just hit me that that is exactly what happened to Alice (although at the time of this scene, she didn't know that). I think I'm slow on the uptick....

*OME* I can not believe that I never even noticed that.. I kind of feel like an idiot now lol..

Wow, I completley missed that too, and I just revamped Twilight. When Alice said there is "another way," I wasn't sure what she was talking about. But now I see that she's very clearly saying that Edward could turn Bella into a vampire. Duh! And very interesting with the foreshadowing of that being what happened to Alice in the same situation.

[quote="skibunny6"][quote="qjmom"]I missed that Edward had been in Bella's room the night before they go to the meadow and that she had laid out what she was going to wear and then Edward shows up in the same thing. [quote]

I as well, missed that. I think the first time I read it was like: huh they match?... then the second time I was like: cute, they match! and then by the fourth time, it was like: OHHHHH SNAP!

I've read 'Twilight' twice, 'New Moon' twice, 'Eclipse' once and 'Breaking Dawn' once. So, I am sure the more I read them the more things will go click in my head. Like the first time I read NM. I didn't understand why Alice only saw Bella jump off the cliff and nothing else. Rereading I understood that she could not see werewolves and therefore could not see Jacob rescue Bella. I'm wondering how I missed this on the first read. It says it right there in the pages. All I can think of is that the first time around I read NM in a 24 hour period. I must have been sleep deprived and missing things.

In fact each book I read I did marathon reads, so expect me to post in this thread again once I finish rereading 'Eclipse' and 'Breaking Dawn'.

No I don't think he gets sick, he likens it to Bella like her eating dirt, and she tells him one time she ate dirt when she was little. Doesn't make them sick, but holds no value/taste to them.

I missed the part in Breaking Dawn when Edward keeps on breaking Jacob's fingers when Renesmee is being delivered. I was really shocked that I missed that detail. It just goes to show you how amazing of a writer SM is! ^:)^

Here are some things I'm noticing in NM, ch. 4

pg. 100 time always sped up when I was looking forward to something unpleasant.

Isn't that true, everytime something big and bad happens to Bella, time seems to get distorted.

pg. 101 talking to Jessica "The words sounded stiff, like badly delivered lines, and she looked suspicious."

Bella is playing a role, a part, like the Cullens do.

pg.102, in her closet she mentions "under the clothes I never wore." and then starts to talk about the stereo that reminded her of the Cullens.

Since we all know Bella doesn't have a lot of clothes, this seemed odd to me. Could these be clothes that reminded her of Edward, like the blue shirt?

pg. 109, when Bella sees the guys in Port Angeles, she wonders "What was I doing? Ishould be running from this memory as fast as I could"

That would be the memory of Edward saving her. Ironically, when he wants her to run from him she doesn't seem to have the flight reflex most humans do. Like in Cullen's study when he says that he knows any minute she'll start screaming and running for the door. But when Bella does sense the drive to run, it is not him, but just the thought of him.

Sorry for the double post: I just had this hit me. I love that SM can pack so much meaning into so few words.

Bella says, " No one could be still like Edward." I've always read this as a comparison to a statue, that she is able amazed that he be so still. I still think this is part of the meaning, but I also think there is extra meaning behind the phrase No one. Who else could hold such control against their singer?

Something you said got me thinking here!

So eating the fruit of the tree of knowledge. In chapter 5, Edward tells Bella he wishes she would stop trying to figure out what he is. But she persists to the point of flirting with Jacob to milk him for information.

Just by pursuing her interest in him, instead of heeding his warnings to resist, she has condemned herself.

Not only that, but her flirting here set off - at the very least, encouraged - a chain of events that led to Jacob falling in love with her and the ensuing love triangle. Not only did she condemn herself by pursuing the knowledge, she condemned herself by the deceitful way she pursued it.

Some of the things I discovered as I revamped were

-Alice can't forsee accidents. For instance, in NM when Bella cuts her finger by accident at her birthday party, Alice hadn't seen that. It makes sense, since Bella hadn't planned on cutting herself. But it does leave room for dangerous things to happen accidentally that Alice can't see.

-In Twilight, the vampire research Bella does on the internet speaks of the "Danag" and how the vampire blew his cover when a human cut his/her finger and the vamp then drank the blood. As we all know, Bella cuts her finger on her birthday party and it nearly leads to the same disaster for the Cullens.

- Again in Twilight, after Edward overhears Bella's conversation with Jess in Trig, Edward tells Bella that he cares about her more because he would be willing to leave her even if it caused him constant pain. Bella's private response is that she would just start engaging in dangerous behavior in order for him to have to return to her (to save her). And this is exactly what happens in NM.

I think she is referring to the clothes that maybe Alice had bought for her. She didn't want ANYTHING to remind her of the Cullen's-including clothes. I could be wrong though.

I missed these and I never thought about that about Alice wow see this is why I love this thread because people point things out to me that I have missed and I am surprised since I have read them more then once

I didn't do the math before. Bella stopped visiting her dad in Forks 3 years ago. The Cullens moved there 2 years ago. So if she had visited her dad, and Edward had chanced upon her scent, could he have resisted? Would the result have been different if the first assault upon his senses hadn't taken place in a room full of innocent children? Would he have been obsessed enough to follow her back to Phoenix?

I was just thinking about this lauralee. I don't think that Edward would have harmed Bella even then, because Edward, being Edward, would never have harmed a child, and he would have seen Bella as a child at 15.

AND he wouldn't have been forced to sit right next to her - he could have simply run away from the temptation. He wouldn't have followed her back to Phoenix because he wouldn't have spent enough time near her to realize he cared about her.

I have just finished reading this entire thread. I love it! All of you TMs are amazing! Each time I revamp I find more that I've missed (I might need to make a list this time). It always amazes me how SM has created this (very long) story and made the pieces all fit together in such a perfectly amazing way.

Not sure if someone else had mentioned this. In Breaking Dawn on page 674, it says "Edward and I had not had a last grand scene of farewell, nor did I plan one. To speak the word was to make it final. It would be the same as typing the words The End on the last page of a manuscript."

And so Stephenie did type the end at the back of Breaking Dawn. She spoke the word to make it final... :(
