Different ways of falling in love.

I wouldnt be a bit surprised either if Tanya had a little "SAY" in something conniving before the wedding or even JUST at all in BD, but I don't think Edward would think she's Bella and kiss her, unless she has a way to change her scent.

I think I vote with SM here. I am one of the few who will argue that Bella isn't really 'in love' romantically with Jacob. I know Bella says she is and SM says she is, but I refuse to believe it. Wink

There are so many different kinds and levels of love...I think she loves Jacob, but NOT LIKE SHE LOVES EDWARD!!!

I was never upset with Bella for falling for Jake. As far as she knew, Edward was never coming back and it was over. Eventually, she would need to move on. Even though Edward loves Bella very deeply, he thought he was committing the ultimate act of love - letting her go in order to protect her. As others have said, I also got the impression he would have been happy if Bella had fallen for someone else. If he couldn't be with her, the next best thing would be for her to be safe and find happiness again with someone else.

I have to admit, I got mad at Bella - not in NM, I could understand her very well then. She tried to survive without Edward and Jacob helped her through her depression. But he could not heal her and she knew that. She felt instantly healed when she embraced Edward in Volterra. He is her true love.

At least, I believed that as I finished NM. In Eclipse, I could follow her when she tried to keep her friendship with Jacob - Yes, I knew it was a little bit more than just friendship, based on her experiences in NM. I was with her, when she sneaked out to La Push in the beginning. But later in the book, I lost her more and more and felt very sad about it. For me she was out of character in the end. A spoiled princess, knowing that Edward would do anything for her and counting on that! This was not the Bella we came to know in the previous books. I was disappointed with SM , I have to admit. To me there was too much drama in the good-bye scene with Jacob. I simply couldn't believe it was Bella speaking, when she said to Jake, she maybe would feel jealous if he imprinted, or his last words to him "Love you, Jake"(!?) And after that,crying in Edward's arms and longing for Jake's!

I don't know if I put it in the right words but I did understand her emotional confusion but SM went too far with it.
I felt betrayed after Eclipse, my personal Twilightfeeling was gone and I was worried, if there could be a happy ending for B&E.

Did that make sense? I wanted to point out,that the Bella in NM was completely different from the Bell in Eclipse (for me)

I was upset with Bella at first too. You know, how could she do that to Edwardor Jacob?! But, I think your right, that she didn't recognize that she was in love with Jacob, it was different than what she had with Edward. Plus, it was overshadowed by Edward as well, it's hard to concentrate on anyone else when he is around, well even when he is not around.

I forgave her too and learned to understand her!

My husband and son though still remain upset at her!
