Carlisle and Esme and the others -Scent?

Forgive me if this has been asked before ... I tried to search and came up w/nothing.

We know that Edward is attracted to Bella's freesia scent. What scent is Carlisle attracted to? Has it ever been mentioned?

I'm so new at this, so I apologize if this has been asked or answered. Just point me in the right direction and feel free to delete or lock this thread!

I don't recall it being mentioned ever what scent Esme is to Carlisle. Good question though, because we know that they all must smell unique and good to their respective mates. Maybe it is answered on the Lex. We do know that Esme first met Carlisle when she was a teenager and broke a leg and he treated her. She was infatuated with him, of course. But her not being near death would not allow Carlisle to even think of changing her -- someone with a full life ahead of them . But years later when she threw herself off the cliff in despair, Carlisle saw her again in the hospital -- she was not dead yet, but she would be. Ther must have been quite a connection he felt for her then to turn her and keep her for himself.

That is ineresting though, I would love to know what the rest of the Cullens' scents are Very Happy

What I mean to say is for example, what fragrance Alice is to Jasper and do the men have scents also? Wink

I'd like to know what they smell like to each other also. And do the other Cullen men think Bella smells like freesia?

If I were to venture a guess as to the smells of Carlisle and Esme (and the others while we're at it) I would say:

Carlisle: "The smell of fresh dried laundry, just coming in off of the clothesline"

Esme: "A very comfortable smell, like fresh baked bread right out of the oven and still warm."

Alice: " Baby smell. You know the one I mean, moms (and dads), you can sniff it all day and never tire of it."

Jasper: " The smell of a fine burgandy wine, after it has been allowed to breathe in the bottle for a while."

Emmett: " Outdoor and earthy, just like nature"

Rosalie: " Intoxicating, and alluring, like the smell of a slow burning incense pot."

Well, those are my guesses!

I think I remember Bella saying that Alice had a citrus like scent (NM). I can't remember the page but it's when she returns to console Charlie and to her surprise, finds Bella alive.

Edward remarks that the newer vampires are not as good at distinguishing different flavors in the scents of humans. He mentioned Jasper as an example of this. I believe he explains this in the meadow, when he's discussing Bella's scent.

We'll have to ask Stephenie what the others smell like.

I think in Twilight when James has Bella in the ballet studio, he said something about Alice smelling better than Bella and something about flowers. So I think maybe she has the hyacinth scent. I'll have to go back and re-read that part. Hmmm I'll have to get my book back, it's on loan at the moment. Very Happy
