Please don’t turn around
Don’t abandon me, eternally lost
As I float amongst the reds and blues
Of your last sigh as you kissed me goodbye

Keep walking away
Walking away from me and all we had
All we were and all we would ever be
Life as we dreamed it in our perfect place

Breathe if you can
And, if you can, find your new life waiting
Go to the ends of the earth if you must
Or seek it beyond the stars in your eyes

But don’t turn around
For a final glance or a kiss from me
For if you do turn back, you will find but
A pillar of salt, for nothing is left
