I was beginning to think I was going crazy, but after reading all these posts I feel much more sane.
I just finished reading Twilight for the 2nd time (even better the 2nd time around!) I was raving to my mother in law about how awesome this book is, and wanting to share the love and turn her into a twilighter too, I lent her my one and only copy. I had a mini anxiety attack when she left my house with the book in her hands. My sister has my copies of NM and Eclipse, so right now I have none of the three and I'm freaking out!! Tomarrow I'm going to buy duplicates as it looks like everyone else has done too!

Don't ask me, I can't begin to explain it. The kicker is one of them is Eclipse SE. That book could not have been more than a few days old.

I won't lend mine out. I called my best friend who shares my "Harry Potter" addiction and told about my new one. I offered her my copy of my "Twilight" audiobook only because I have it uploaded on my iPod. :) I told her to stop by Wal-mart on her way home and pick them up. Mine are not leaving my possession. Sorry. Can't do it.

I know what you all mean, I went away for the weekend and left my Twilight at home. While I was packing I was thinking to myself I wouldn't have time to read it and I felt so anxious without it. The whole time I was gone I thought of things I wanted to check on in the books and I couldn't! I won't do that again. I also have purchase another copy of twilight in paperback so I can travel with it. I don't think I could consider lending out the hard copy one ever!

I also just realized that our annual camping trip we take every year that is one of the things I look forward to each summer is going to be on the weekend of Aug 2! I will be in the middle of no where not close to any type of civilazation. I don't know how I will survive! I am trying to convince my husband to let me drive down to the nearest town to get the book, but with gas prices the way they are I don't think I will be able to convince him. But I don't think he realizes there will be no living with me until I get it! I think he underestimates the power of my icy stare!

I finally convinced my Mom to read the books right at the same time as all of the book signings, I had hard back copies of NM and E, but just (a very well loved) paperback of Twilight. So I went and bought a new hardback to get signed and gave my paperback to my Mom. She is now hooked and I have since bought her NM and E. But I really miss my paperback. It was thrashed from dragging it around everywhere with me, pages dog-eared, cover threatening to come loose. I've revamped with the signed Twilight and let's just say it was...different. Like it needs to be broken in. I think I just need to read it several more times and the same feeling will come to this copy!

But it doesn't end there. So I went and bought the SE Eclipse and I had a major decision to make. Give that one to my Mom, or the old edition that I've had forever? I now have Twilight and NM signed, but not Eclipse, so that wasn't an issue, but I hopefully will in the future. In the end I gave my Mom the old one, and I kept the SE, mostly so I could keep the fist chapter of BD with me. (My mom lives several states away, I didn't think I could handle the seperation.) But now I'm thinking I want to trade her once BD comes out so I can have my original copy. I am crazy. I am. I know.

No you are not a freak. A freak would go and buy another set so she still had her books when they were lent out. Not that I know anyone who would do that....

I just ordered another set of books because DD is going to start the series soon - I told her she could read them when she starts middle school this fall. This way we each have our own set

I've had two people ask for mine. I tell them I'll gladly get them a discount at the book store I work at... but Twilight does not leave my bookshelf... if it does... that means I'm reading it. :D

I have multiple copies....For home mine mine mine.daughter's copies and copies for work and friends for lending. I loaned Twilight out and it never came back, Lesson learned.....Is there a hard cover copy of Twilight out there that I can get my hands on? Ihaven't been able to find one. I have hardcovers of the other and the special editions ofcourse of Eclipse and the other, Newmoon, but I don't have a hardcover of Twilight.I won't even loan mine to my mother.

I loaned mine very reluctantly to my mom. She didn't read it, but had it for 2 weeks. I was freaking the whole time. And I was still reading NM and Eclipse at the time, so I wasn't going to read it. I finally got it back, and like a FOOL, I let my friend April in Easern WA (6 HOURS AWAY!) borrow it for overnight until she could get her own copy the next day. Well, I ended up not seeing her, and now I don't have my book! She's mailing it to me tomorrow though.

AND- I got my best friend to rea Twilight, and told her she could borrow my copy of New Moon. Well, I wussed out. So, I just bought her New Moon so I could hang onto mine.

My friends at work all know better than to ask me to borrow Twilight. Even when I loan other books out, I give them instructions (don't read it with the dust jacket on, don't bend the spine backwards, don't fold the corners down, etc.). I am so anal and I take really good care of my stuff and they know it! I basically tell anyone who asks me if they can borrow Twilight that they'll end up liking it so much that they should really just go and buy their own.

That's too funny. If i lend anyone a book (I WILL NOT lend out my Twilight collection! Buy your own i say!) I actually lend it WITH A bookmark! So They don't dog ear my pages!!
