I have been officially obsessed since May '08, but the thing is...I can't put them down. My daughter comes in and says, "Mom, you already read that book!" she's six. I'm going to the Breaking Dawn party at my nearest Barnes and Noble on Aug. 1st. I've never gone to a book party and I am so stoked. I just hope I'm not the only one there over 30. (I'm 31 thank you very much)

| I bought Twilight in August of 07. I didn't get around to reading it until October. I was coming off of HP withdrawls and trying to find something else to read. I forced myself to finish the Golden Compass before I started Twilight. Once I read Twilight no other book as been able to compare. I start books and then go right back to revamping one of the three in the saga. |
It appears many of us were Harry Potter fans looking for something to fill the void after DH came out. _________________

Yes and although last year I could have quite happily picked up any HP book and reread it, now it holds no interest for me to do so. I am irreversibly altered! _________________

Me too! And I loved HP, waited anxiously for each new one, almost felt like I would cry when DH came and I finished it as quickly as I did... Then Twilight happened *sigh*.... _________________

Thanks ferrarimum, that makes me even more excited. I don't know, I never did any of this stuff when I was younger, I think the older I get the more I appreciate a good book and people that have the same good taste as I do. LOL!!

I first read Twilight in the summer of 07; August, I think, because I think it was after HP#7. I read New Moon and Eclipse as soon as I got back to school. I really went over the edge, though, when my hubby got me all 3 for Christmas (signed copies.) The obsession didn't get serious until I had my own set, instead of having to take them out of the library!

I've been obsessed since just last month, June of '08. I'm a HP fan too, but nothing has ever compared to this. It was like lightning striking!
I feel like I've cheated, finding out about Twilight this late and not having to wait for the others (except BD) to come out. I don't know how the rest of you stood it! _________________ "And then," he whispered, "as you were sleeping, you said my name."

I've been obsessed since March 2007.
I read Twilight and New Moon back to back in two days, spent 6 months going crazy waiting for the release of Eclipse, and now have spent the last year testing the limits of my sanity while waiting for Breaking Dawn. _________________

I've been 'un'obssessed sine I read the three books in January. Sick sick sick. _________________ Do you ever think that your life might be easier if you weren't in love with me?
Maybe. It wouldn't be much of a life, though.

I actually did notice Twilight when it first came out, but I didn't read it because I'm not much of a vampire fan. But I've heard from all kinds of friends and family for at least the past two years that I would really like these books. Finally, last March, I was walking through a bookstore that had a huge display and was running a sale on all the Twilight books, and I thought, "Why not?" I just bought Twilight, and I didn't start it for like 4 days. Then I read it in two days, and started it again before my husband realized I'd finished it. Then I read it a third time - plus all the extras and outtakes on Stephenie's website - while I waited for NM and EC to come in the mail...
So yeah, I've only been obsessed for a little over 4 months. Weird! It feels like forever! _________________ My Edward is actually a Josh.

Only since mid-July. I had heard of it, even looked at the book multiple times in Target and thought "eh". On one hand, I wish I had been obsessed since the beginning. On the other hand, it was cool because I hardly had to wait for BD. It's completely taken over my life. My whote board says "Hale yeah!" much to my husband's dismay. _________________

oh my-i really AM a newborn!
i've only been twilight obsessed for about two weeks now..but let me tell ya-i fell fast and i fell HARD!! it's like falling in love for the first time..i feel all happy and ALIVE again. the sad thing is that i really didn't realize how numb and in a rut i was in life (you know-house, kids, work, bills, etc etc) until i started reading twilight-then it just dawned on me-wow! i am still a PERSON all on my own! not in relation to my kids or my husband or our business or my other family, etc. i am still a living, breathing, passionate woman!
sorry for the mini-ramble there...i get a little excited _________________
