I was mentally comparing Little Ashes to My Own Private Idaho (in terms of storyline; guy in love with another guy who's in love with a girl) but I think your comparison to Heath Ledger in BBM is a lot more accurate. (Also, you're the first person I've come across that actually liked BBM... can I say how cool that is?). I'll be seeing Little Ashes too, hopefully it'll be released in the US.

I LOVED Brokeback Mountain and Im so glad you think thats cool! Most people kinda look down their noses at stuff like that. My roommate for instance claims she will not see Little Ashes if there is guy on guy things going on. BBM gave me an entirely different perspective on love though. At first I thought it would be difficult to watch Heath Ledger (since he was my all-time favorite, RIP Crying or Very sad ) but after the first scene, it was like "This is just acting, what am I worried about?" But the characters are so deep and they truely LOVE each other. I'll probaly be the same way about Little Ashes. Cool

I really enjoyed BBM. The pace was a little slower than what I'm used to but not as slow as some British films I've seen where I had to keep myself from nodding off, despite the interesting storyline.

I'm surprised that more people don't enjoy BBM. It was such a beautiful, poignant, and heart-breaking love story!

Yes, it most definitely agree. It gives those who may have narrow opinions on the topic of homosexuality or who may not have been exposed to it very much a look into how 2 men can love each other just as much as a man and woman can. If that makes any sense....

Anyway, just like I was about Heath Ledger, VERY excited to see ANYTHING Rob is in. I think he has become my new favorite, and not just because of Twilight.

Oddly enough, it was my brother and his boyfriend that liked BBM the least of all the people I've talked to. Confused

I've never been able to talk about my experience watching BBM with anyone before... not even DH... so sorry if this is OT. I watched it when my marriage was going through its first major crisis, and I know it's a large part of why my marriage is strong today. People think it's just a movie about two guys, but it's really a movie about love. It broke my heart (I cried nonstop for two months)... but it really opened my eyes to my own life and I made some serious changes for the better. TMs on here sometimes talk about their lifechanging Twilight experience... well, I had that with BBM.

Rob takes on some challenging and unique rolls and pulls them off fantastically. I just hope he doesn't push himself too far like Heath did Crying or Very sad

I loved BBM, it was a love story and after a while I just felt the story. It wasn't important anymore that it was about two guys. It was about human feelings I could relate to. I cried like a baby. So I think it would be a little awkward to see Rob like that because he is so much Edward in my mind but I think if his acting is good I would forget about that. I would want to see all his movies.

I just finished The Haunted Airman...

Rob is a brilliant actor, but I'm completely confused as to the point of the movie (side note; I really hate spiders). Why did it end that way? I thought he was going to kill himself, but the way it ended took me completely by surprise.

Still, Rob was brilliant in it... it was a very complex role and a less talented actor would have made the whole thing unbearable.

From what I hear about the short story it was based on is that he was supposed to being going crazy ( and that the short story itself wasn't well written) so it translated strangely in the film. I think it was a good role for Rob to do in terms of physical acting skill, because lets face it it isn't easy to pretend your legs don't work. And there is nearly no action for similar reasons, just lots of facial expressions and conversation.

Someone in another thread said that if you have a mutli-regional DVD player they found some of his lesser known things on british amazon and this site so you may want to check that out. Also that PS3's play all region DVD's.

I started watching the Haunted Airman but havent had time to finish yet. It's really weird, but Rob is so good in it!

Good to know that PS3's play all DVD's. I think Apple laptops do too.

Does anybody know where I can find the Summer House in it's entirety like on a dvd or even a recorded version of someone's. I'm really looking forward to seeing Little Ashes and How to be but i'd like to see the movies he already has out. It's good to know about the PS3

Pretty sure that the Summer House has NOT been released anywhere. Every clip I have seen from it has the music playing in the background.

So I finished The Haunted Airman: very weird, but Rob of course was amazing. He wows me.

I also ordered The Bad Mother's Handbook from Amazon UK and was able to watch it on my laptop. It was one of the cutest movies I've seen in such a long time! So refreshing! I laughed, I cried, and Rob was adorable as the nerdy kid! Smile LOVED IT! Definitely worth watching if you have the opportunity!

I briefly watched short clips of "The Haunted Airman", "How To Be" and "The Bad Mother's Handbook."

WOW! He just shifts so easily from one role to another. That is what makes a great actor...someone who can do just about anything. (Thinking about the likes of Heath Leder and James McAvoy here.) I am going to take a little more time and watch "The Haunted Airman" and "The Bad Mother's Handbook" from their beginnings.

OME, I have totally been making the comparison b/w Heath L and Rob, simply b/c of their versatility and talent! I think all of Rob's works are worth watching, just like other great actors! He just always manages to blow me away, and I think that ability is going to really shine when we see him as Edward.

Every time I think about Heath it brings a tear to my eye. The entertainment world lost something great the day Heath Ledger died. I can't wait to watch "The Dark Knight" to see him as the Joker. WOW!

Oh yes, indeed. He was literally my favorite actor. I've been enjoying watching his films ever since he started making them! Rob has now replaced him as my fav, but Heath and his works will always be special to me!

Yeah, I finished "The Haunted Airman" last night. I really liked it. Sure, it was weird, but I think that was kind of the point. This guy was freaking out about what he had done during the war and he couldn't control all those delusions he was having. I didn't enjoy the spiders though. Sad

Just shows how versatile Rob is.
