Just going back to something Jess said about the next meet being at a beach somewhere. Where was the somewhere and when did you have in mind? I'd really like it to be before schools go back in September but then it will have to be after I come back from Florida!

We just have to get together to talk about BD!!

Also, Sanguina...why did you shoose Sanguina? I know what it means but..... Very Happy

Well I've seen like those little weekend break packages to just random beach spots, and I thought hey that would be fun for us all to do. What are the good/cheap travel places to go through here, heck we could do a weekend in a different country pretty cheaply as well. We do need to get together after BD to discuss, analyse, obsess! I should get back from the US around the 24, school starts the 1 (well INSET days, students on the 3) so a few weeks to get settled, maybe late September? or actually the weekend of the 23rd might be cool as I should get back that week. I'm also open to suggestions of get together ideas! I always feel like I'm being pushy about what to do, and I don't like it haha

But seriously when the film is UK released, that is a mandatory UK mom meet up for seeing it together! It will be so exciting to squeal and obsess together!

Well how about we both research when we have some time and see if we find anything that we can let the others know about. I know we are on similar wave lengths with work so leaving Friday evening back early enough on Sunday etc. hopefully our school's half term breaks match up that would be a good weekend to go just as break is starting so no stress about being away and what not when I should be planning, marking, etc. Smile

That's a good plan! I know that sometimes half-term breaks don't match up from county to county but we can sinc our diaries to see what matches up!

Haven't been in here in a while and just catching up. ferrarrimum, I am so sorry for your loss. I need to moderate less and have more fun on this site so I don't miss these conversations.

I chose Sanguina a long time ago when I was about 14. I have always been into vampires and the latin language, it just seemed fitting! A feminised version of latin for blood!

BEACH and Twilight viewing marathon are both BRILLIANT IDEAS! Can't wait. Stephanie and I are gonig to meet-up tomorrow for a pint and we are going to go see one of Rob's mates (Bobby Long) play a gig on Tuesday the 8th. I found a bunch of new bands I dig from his page and I am going to try and see a lot of them if I can because I really like blues/folk stuff. I used to sing blues. So i am really excited to hear some new stuff!

Give Steph a hug from me! I hope your evening is amazing! I like going to blues clubs, haven't done it in a long time though!

The funeral for Caroline is next Wednesday. We though they might close the school so all of us could go but it's in the afternoon and as most of us who worked with her don't work in the afternoon, they're not going to.

Ohhh I hope you guys have a great time at the gig, I'll be joining you soon enough I hope, so find out the best ones to see and we'll have weekly outings, yay! I must be on top of lessons this year so I don't feel guilty going out through the week to see things.

Okay yes so marathon Twilight viewings, weekends at the shore, we are having an amazing Twilight year ahead of us.

I am an educator too! I hope if I get the two year post, I can meet up with other UK Twilight moms there!!! Hubby will be itching to find a band to play with. I don't think he will be able to stand being a househusband with out an outlet from his crazy wife and her latest "thing". I hope there are some good clubs around Cambridge. I might have to fight off college girls from hubby though, if he plays out!! He has incredible hair just like Robbie P, except much longer...swoon

Jess I love your new avatar picture!

mom3, it would be great to meet another ex-pat. Sanguina and JessLynn are both from the US. We have more American based UK moms than actual UK ones I think!! Although I'm enough UKmom for anyone to handle!!

Thanks ferrarimum, I had fun playing with the photo editor stuff in photobucket!

We do have loads of expats here in our UK thread, does that mean most American's have obsessive personalities? Are smart and caught on? That the British national mom's are even smarter for realizing such a great thing without the hype, the world may never know!

Cambridge is only about an hour from where I live now, its a cute place, I've only been once and it was too freezing to enjoy it, I need to go back! When will you know for sure about the moving?

Also I got the info on my pay packet for next year's school and I am getting a massive raise, I love it!

No I am not sure when. I can get as post easier in Germany, but I prefer England as a first choice. I would be bound to two years, so I wanted to be sure it is a good area, safe and such. I am going to have to reacclimate to the cooler climate and less sunshine. I dont want to be too far removed from the city. We have some time to decide. It probably won't be until 2nd term or, January. The person leaving the post hasn't left yet, they are planning to retire, but the exact date has remained fluid. Is it wicked cold there? My last visit to the UK consisted of London, Devon Cornwall and Plymouth and the temps were great. It was mid April and I wore skirts and light jackets, I've never been during the winter. My frame of reference is limited to spring and summer visits

It's hard to say really, it varies a lot, the temps have been no higher than about 80 here through the whole of summer so far, and it's barely been 80 much or long. I've been here in December and worn just a sweater around London, while this November we were seriously frozen while walking around Cambridge, so I think it is milder than northrn US winters, and not so hot and humid as its extreme summers but covers a wide range of the middle if that makes sense. So bathing suit to winter coat still but never actual full on snow storm (a sprinkling sends people into a frenzy here!) or like 100 degrees and heat advisories either.
