Did anyone else have problems with the storms last night? I don't know how they were in nebraska city or Omaha. We're slowly but surely losing our tree population in Lincoln with everything this week. I know mbeck had it the toughest in Grand Island. She has family in Kearney too. Scary!

Nope, no problems with storms here. The storms always seem to collapse just before they hit us. I wish we'd get a good lightning storm or something, but no luck. I hear we'll probably get hit pretty good this season though so, who knows.

Ugh.. come spend the night in Lincoln. We've had plenty of lightning. I'm alright with the rain.. know we have to have it now or we'll be hurting big time by August, but I'd be okay if we didn't have anything WORSE than this for storms. I was out and about the night of Hallum, and it was just way too close a call for me.. debris falling in our yard days after .. burns a picture in your brain, that's for sure.

We're going to have to plan a movie get together in Dec. Mbeck and I are already planning to meet up again with the KC ladies for the BD release (we were there for the Host signing), but prob won't go back to KC for the movie, it being December and all. Maybe the movie can be our first official Nebraska TM's meeting heehee!

I feel very fortunate to have been spared for the bad storms... we were expecting something bad the other night though. We live with my father, and he is a quadriplegic. Makes me thankful that my man is so burly- he can carry dad down to the basement if it comes down to it.

YAY about the movie.. We'll have to make plans when it gets a little closer to have a full-fledged Nebraska TM's get together. (we need to think of a special shirt!!)

I'm recruiting one of the ladies who works with me. I'm taking her my signed copy of Twilight to borrow (my grandma has the other one, and I don't want my friend to wait!!) so she can get started on reading. She's promised me she'll read quickly HAHA!

HELLO EVERYBODY!!!! With the Breaking Dawn release coming up (finally!!), I thought I'd check to see if anyone in Omaha was planning anything and saw this thread! I can't believe that Breaking Dawn will be out in less than a month now. It seems like I've been waiting FOREVER! I will be in line at the Borders on 72nd & Dodge at midnight Aug 2nd, & I plan on staying up all night (or until I pass out) reading the book. I would love to get together to see the movie on Dec 12th. I've hooked 3 of my coworkers on the series and I'm still working on hooking a few other folks. I would like to go see the movie as a big group!

Hi.. and welcome to our slowly growing Nebraska group . I know mbeck and I are headed to Kansas City for our big Breaking Dawn bash down there (doing a mock bachelorette party).. we got together with a lot of the KC gals in May for the Host signing so are looking forward to going back. Omaha representation is growing though.. so we may have to do the movie premiere there!! (I think you guys are three strong now!) I have a couple of co-workers reading the series too!! It's so fun to experience it the first time through them again.

I would love to be a part of a KC get together. We are going to be in KC the following weekend for a family reunion so I can't do 2 weeks in a row.

This is starting to feel real! I cannot wait until Aug 2nd!!!!!!! I've read the series sooo many times, I've been forcing myself to read other books, but I think it's time to start revamping...

Yeah.. I'm going to be in KC the weekend prior to for a family reunion. Go figure.. but my gas budget will work overtime this month. Prob won't go anywhere else except Omaha for quite awhile afterwards.

Am so bothered by the board shutting down that I'm not a good person to be with right now.. not because of the addiction (yes, there is that, but I can handle not being on a board for 3 weeks), but because it seems incredibly senseless to me. Still, have made my opinions known, and it won't do any good to continue to moan here. *sigh, sigh* May do a little moaning on a listserve I may be putting together. If you're interested, PM me your email address. Not 100% sure what I'm going to do just yet, but have some pretty good ideas floating around in my head of how to keep some of us midwesterners in touch.
