I think imarriededward has a very good point. While I don't condone Jareds violence, I can definately understand the reaction. I would probably react violently to such a situation. Though, I would hope that I would be more like Ian who is more open to change.

Jared's violence, as others have said, is understandable given the context. SM doesn't make her characters always do what we feel comfortable with; she writes them as real people would actually react. In real life, some respond with understanding but others lash out. The more I think about Jared, the more I like him. My heart might not melt like it did with Ian, but I definitely respect and admire Jared and would welcome him as a friend.

Awesome idea...maybe even some of Mels life pre-alien infestation would be interesting too, when the world gets the first warnings and such. (You suppose we could follow if SM bounced between two or more point of views...I mean we sort of did in this one, right?

I had to search out this thread to gush all over Jared. I love Jared. He is the perfect man in my opinion. He is strong and resilient. I want to get to know him better. I hope he stays an important part of wanderers life, so that as this story progresses I can see more of him.

Jared is hot, passionate, dangerous, and has raw animal magnetism. I never had any lovery-dovey feelings for Jared because his character just did not scream that to me. Much like Jacob for me. I found his sarcasm, hot and cold emotions, and body hot but it was not something that screamed forever to me. Not like Edward and Ian.
