Yes, and how does he fit in Rose's little red Beemer convertible, not to mention Jasper and Alice, once Edward starts driving Bella to school? They didn't all take separate cars, did they? :?

I disagree emphatically. I think Rosalie is perfect for Emmett. Their relationship is not soley about the physical, although I am sure it is a strong part and there is certainly nothing wrong with that. Rosalie needs someone to love her and to protect her, even though she doesnt really need to be protect, while Emmett is the type of man that needs someone to protect. They find that in each other. He is exactly the type of man who knows how to handle a strong woman like Rosalie and also how to comfort someone who deep down is as unsure about her exsistance as she is. She has a dark humor that I am sure he adores, even though he has a more blantant humor. We only see the one side of her, the side of her that Bella sees. I am sure that Emmett sees the real her and not just the ticked off jealous side.

I see your point, but, just to elaborate, another thing that influenced my dislike for her was an excerpt of Stephanie Meyers elaboration of Rosalie's phone call with Edward about Bella's death. That really ticked me off. But I also do think that we will see that there is more to Rosalie than has been portrayed so far. I really do hope that we will see some of her more redeeming qualities in the upcoming book. And I guess I might be a bit jealous of her, in more ways than one.

Heaven knows that EMMETT is ROASLIE's only salvation. Imagine how miserable she would be without him. They are so opposite but balance each other perfectly!!!

Conflicted as I am, I really don't think I would want to know a Rosalie without her Emmett. Weird huh.

To me the outtake, Misinterpretation, made me understand her better. She didnt do it to be mean, she wanted Edward back. She loves him even if they arent best friends. She just wanted her family whole. Then at the end she screams for Emmett because he is the only one that can make her whole. She feels horrible about what she did, she didnt do it on purpose. When she apologizes in NM, she was sincere even if Edward wasnt willing to listen to her, he knew she meant it. ---- I feel very protective of Rosalie... :) ... i should start a fan club because I could be the president of it. I understand her more than I understand any of the other characters.

I still see her as very selfish. She seems to disregard the fact that Bella is dead, even relish the fact as she tells Edward. Shes seems, to me, to only cares about her own feelings. Agree to disagree? :)

Agree to disagree we will have to do. As for the Rosalie question, why dont you pose it over in the Rosealie thread so we dont in trouble to getting off topic in here. :)

If I were in a situation were I needed to be saved Emmett is the first one I would want to be there, of course I would want the rest of the Cullen boys not far behind...

I just have to say something about Emmett!!!

I was watching the National Geographic Channel and they were having a program on Yosemite National Park. They were mentioning about having a bear problem there and my thought was, "Emmett and the other Cullen boys should go hunting there. Wait.... they probably already do! Emmett's favorite game is grizzle bears and Yosemite is so close to Forks. That's where they go, I'm sure of it!"

AAAhhhhhh, my brain, constantly in Twilight mode and thinking it's real. What a healthy interest!!

I have mentioned this before, but i LOVE Emmett. Emmett's have been my type my whole life and if I had to pick between having my own personal Jacob or my own personal Edward I would say my boyfriend is an Edward, but he is also many parts Emmett. He is a big cuddly teddy bear 6'3, 300 lbs (not a juicy 300lbs, He's an ex-football player, its mostly muscle) and even though he can grow a beard in 20 minutes he has the, the most adorable baby face. He's a big goof ball who loves to make me laugh.

When I first picked up Twilight I thought, Edward's great but Emmett's the one for me and then the fact that Kellan is playing him in the movie: what more could a girl ask for.

Love Emmett. Love Kellan.

I had a quick scan through this topic so I apologize if this has been mentioned, but my fave Emmet bit is the grad party at the Cullen's house, Eclipse page 368.

'I saw Emmet grin at Mike over the food table, the red lights gleaming off his teeth, and watched Mike take and automatic step back.'

It is one of those priceless moments that cracks me up and I reckon will translate really well to film.

Ok I know this isn't really on topic with this thread but since I'm new and still have no clue(lol) how this works I thought I would post here since it kinda has something to do with this. lol

Ok here goes nothing....We have a litter of 11 day old Collie puppies. I named one Emmett..I would have named the others things like Rosalie,Bella etc but I think my family might have gotten wise to the fact. So far its an inside joke between my 15 y/o daughter and myself since we are the only ones who read the books and drool over the characters. lol

If I can figure out how to attach pictures I will post a picture of him.

hmmmmm now that I think of it maybe Jacob would have been more appropriate?? :aaarggh:
