Interesting thoughts once again Frankie. I like the aging thing in comparison to "dog years". You could be on to something there. Would also explain the weathered skin of the Volturri.

Great thoughts!!! :)

I agree about the skin. My grandmother was ninety-six when she passed away, and he skin looked like onionskin (the almost transparent tracing paper) the way SM describes Aro's. However, Aro's hair was black, no mention of gray, and somehow I just don't think he could dye it, because of his fragile skin.

Maybe hairdressing is Alec's vamp power. He gets the Volturi's hair so intimidating, the others just have to back down...

OME! I had to come back again and tell you I'm still laughing at that. You're killing me but it's a good way to go.

It was recommended that I check this thread out because I was talking with other posters about Aro. T
The question over at the Breaking Dawn thread had to do with what might happen if the Volturi found out about the werewolves.

I commented to the effect that Aro must already know about them through Alice. He didn't just see her visions. He saw her thoughts. So maybe her visions would NOT show the wolves...but her thoughts would. She had real memories of Jacob being in Bella's house and all.

So--has Aro told the others? If so are they playing some sort of a waiting game? Or has Aro kept this info to himself? And if so--why? To protect the Cullens for some reason--maybe in the hopes that some of them will one day join him???? Interesting?

If this has already been completely thrashed out--just point me in the right direction :-)

I'm wondering though that if Alice can't "see" the werewolves, then Aro can't either be it through her visions or her thoughts

I think we have to remember, too, that at this point in the series, Alice hadn't seen (and I mean physically looked upon) Jacob, or any of the other Quileute boys, as werewolves yet. So, she wouldn't have a vision of them in werewolf form. She wouldn't have the foggiest idea what they looked like. Yes, she was aware of them, but I was under the impression that Alice's visions and thoughts were two distinctly different things. I think she was able to allow Aro to see her visions while keeping her thoughts private. JMHO.

Antonio Banderas from Interview with the Vampire. Less mascara, and I could see it.

One more thing this leads to: Do vampires really live forever? Maybe they don't die by natural means, but maybe they become weak, relative to younger vampires, and are destroyed.

This could also explain why James was able to kill the old vampire that changed Alice so easily (by himself as opposed to having Edward, Emmett, AND Jasper taking him down)

Yes, yes! And WHO was that ANCIENT vampire that changed Alice, could it have been the SAME vampire that changed Carlisle...? The theory of a vampire/Garden of Eden is interesting.....I had thought perhaps the old ones could have been mistaken for Egyptian 'gods'....they were buried down into tombs weren't they, along with their wives (perhaps for a light snack until they emerged then moved on), then became the Greek 'gods' who would see young innocent maidens to prey upon and 'change'?? Swimming the ocean would be a chore, but the Inca's had their temples?? I know I am rambling for story sake.....but the age thing is facinating! One more question. With Jane and Alex being burned....how did they get captured, and then subsequently escape? And don't twins share a sort of telepathy with each other??
