Hey, everyone. I'm here in Florence, on the coast. Doesn't look like any of you are remotely near me...

Just a few miles from Forest Grove...which is about 35-40 miles west of Portland. We used to go to Florence all the time to ride our dirt bikes on the dunes down there! I love it and would move there if I could.

Yes, Florence is an awesome place to live... if you have a job. Luckily, I do, but my husband has struggled here - he's currently starting up a new business. It's about the only way to make a living here unless you're a doctor.

I've heard Forest Grove is nice. How do you like it there?

Yeah, not much industry on the coast...but beautiful nonetheless! I love it here, we are about 3 miles outside of town, on an acre and backing onto a winery. It's nice not being in town, but close enough to get to easily. Forest Grove is a nice little town too. What I really want is to move to central Oregon, but our plans had to change and we are now stuck here indefinitely. Not a bad place to be stuck though!

I live in Central Oregon. It really is nice but the economy around here has really taken a dive. My husband hasn't been able to work since January and the only reason I'm still working is because I work in the medical field. It is the perfect time around here to buy a house though, the market slumped so you can get a decent place in the 200's again. I grew up here and love it, I can ride my horse, hike, and raft all in the same day if I wanted to. I hated it when I was a kid because there was "nothing to do", but it is growing so fast that more and more things are popping up. I love it here.

Our original plan was to move to central/eastern Oregon and have my honey commute....staying in Hillsboro at his parents during the work week and coming home on the weekends. I probably could have found something in my field (dog grooming/veterinary assistant). Unfortunately I now have too many medical appointments to make that very feasible. But I still dream about it and hope that maybe it *could* happen. It's very difficult to have horses here, we only have 2, on an acre! It's a bit squishy and cramped, but we make do!

I'm in La Grande...way over on the other side of the state. We just moved here from Sherwood last year and still have a home there.
