I'm in San Diego. We're about two hours from Hollywood, but I've gone to a few movie premieres. I will definitely be at the Twilight premiere! Anybody who's flying in from other places, maybe those of us who live on the west coast could help you with housing if you need it. Hopefully it'll be at Westwood, because that's the best place for getting autographs and good pictures. Some of the theatres keep you across the street and it's hard to see anything. Of course, I'm talking about the red carpet and not actually going in to see the movie, because usually it's hard to do both. I've gotten tickets to a few, but usually opt to do the red carpet instead figuring I can see the movie anytime, but have only one chance for pics and autographs. The only one I actually went into was Wimbledon with Paul Bettany and Kirsten Dunst.

See ya,

Cindy in San Diego

So how did you get tickets? And you can't usually get autographs if you go in? That stinks!

I really liked the movie Wimbledon. Was that a fun premiere?

I'm with SunnyD though, tickets would be fantastic!!

Its good to know San Diego isn't to far...maybe we could get together out there if I can go??? I would have to let you know as it got closer to see about cost for a flight and possibly a rental car. Plus I have not really talked to my husband about it yet so that could definitely factor into it as well. Rolling Eyes

When we've gotten tickets, it's just been from being there for the red carpet and people pass them out. Say the premiere starts at 8:00 pm. They want you in line or in the theater by 7 or 7:30. The big stars usually only start arriving in the last hour, so you miss out on seeing them. Of course, if you're inside, you get to see them come in, but it's a different atmosphere and you can't get pictures or autographs. Like for Wimbledon, Paul Bettany and his wife were standing beside us inside the theater, but at that point you have to pretend to be blase. LOL We got tickets to the Notebook premiere but opted out of going in, so we got pictures/autographs of all the stars. And usually the stars don't stay for the premiere. They go in but leave after the movie starts. We've also been to Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Van Helsing, X-Men, all red carpets, and have had a great time without going into the premiere itself.

Just PM me when you decide what your plans are. We still have a few months to save money for it! And this could be your Christmas present!!

Wow! You have been to all kinds of premiers...how cool for you Shocked
I can't believe they leave before their movie starts. So they just come out to get pics taken of them?

Well I'd still love to go and get some autographs...of course I have to run it by the hubby too Rolling Eyes

If they do a premiere on the east coast I might could go. Espeically if it is like NYC. That is only like 3 hours for me and I go up there every 6 months or so just for fun anyway.

I am SOOOOOOO in for going to the actual premiere. I live in LA. I'm already ditching work to go see the movie the day it comes out which have have to mention is on my birthday. Coincidence? I think not.

Most of these premieres raise money for charity which means as long as you pay the fee, you can go. I'm willing to pay. This will be my birthday present to myself.

Hey everyone, I'm a East Coast person. I suggested on a post of my own about getting a group together to go to a hopefully New York premiere. Usually they have one on each coast, but Wow Very Happy it would be great to go to the official California one. I've never been to the west coast and would love to meet up with everyone out there. Need help planning and most likely would come on my own so any suggestions, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for any help and at least being single I don't have to worry about husbands, kids, etc. I can act as crazy over Robert as I want to even if I am a lot older than him!!

I'm on the east coast (VA) and I might be interested in going out for this.

I am starting to feel like I have over done by twilight trips for this year. I went to comic con then a midnight release party in sacremento then the LA siging and next is the fork trip in september. I am afriad that I have been pushing my luck. I may have to stay home for the movie.
