I'm having a hard time picturing her. From what I've gathered, she's tall, athletic, tan, dark hair... but I just don't see an image of her.

Well, here is the description on pg 48.

"I knew the reflection in the mirror. The sun-browned skin, the high, sharp bones of my face, the short silk cap of mahogany hair, the muddy green brown hazel of my eyes--this was me."


Does that help bring more of a visual?

Here I searched that description and here are a couple of pictures that I came up with. What do you think? The second one she is obviously too pale, but imagine her with a tan and I think she fits pretty good.

I don't know how funny this is but I am actually just picturing Bella with a tan and short hair!! Not cropped but more like a page boy.

Maybe it's because her face is plastered everywhere for her new movie coming out, but I pictured her kind of like Michelle Monaghan. (Her "Mission Impossible" days)

This of course is prior to Wanderer cutting her hair.

Oh, that's a good one! Every image I could think of just seemed to thin and fragile. And Melanie, I don't feel is either of those things. She seems to fit perfectly. Although, I guess she is younger, but still close. Thanks!

She is definitely not fragile. She excels at soccer and running and his used to hard labor. She is also tall. I had a hard time picturing her as well.

I pictured Ana Lucia (Michelle Rodriguez) from Lost season 2, beautiful and athletic, but an every girl quality as well.

Her physique and features remind me of Blake Lively, but her hair is wrong, so I can't quite picture it. I may have to play around in photoshop to get my image right.

I had a hard time pinpointing what she looked like also. weird. I'll have to see what images come into my mind on the next read through.

I know Stephenie in the past has said if The Host was ever made into a movie she could see Hillary Swank playing Melanie, and Matt Damon as Jared.

I think the Hair on Hilary Swank is good...but I see her as more stocky and Athletic. The description at the end of the book made me think of a hardier size woman.

Hilary is a good match for me. I remember Steph saying the Matt Damon part. I didn't remember Hilary. I can see that.

When I read the description of Melanie/Wanderer the first person to pop into my head was the actress Camilla Belle. Based on looks alone...I think she would be perfect!
