1. Cassandra asks "Should Clary be with Jace or Simon?"

Cassandra Clare was invited to submit discussion questions! Her first one is...

1. Should Clary be with Jace or Simon?

Wait.

I do love Simon too.

But Jace! Brother schmother. He's hot!

Alright...so here's my actual logical reasoning for it. Other than he's hot. :wink:

Simon is WONDERFUL. He's sweet, caring, loyal, cute. He's her best friend! However, he's not who she's in love with. She loves him like a brother, and you just can't tell you heart where it belongs. So Simon may be fabulous...he may be the reasonable answer...he may be the less complicated way. But he's just not for her. And I believe with all of my heart that Simon has someone out there that is just right for him. I guess in way, Simon deserves better. Not that Clary isn't fabulous, but Simon deserves someone who will give them their heart. And unfortunately, no matter how hard she tries, Clary can't do that.

Jace can be rude, complicated and possibly blood related. :shock:

(although I'm not sold on that at all! I think Cassandra has another twist to the story! :wink:

) But Jace loves her, and she loves him. And sometimes, love is enough. I think it will be enough. He brings adventure and excitement to her life. He can help her become a stronger shadowhunter, and teach her things that she should've already learned. I think that Clary makes Jace a better person, and Jace makes Clary a happier person. If they could only survive through this next adventure against Valentine, I'm confident that they will find a way to be together. I think they'll be happy.

Simon is like Jacob...a GREAT guy who we all love, but not the right one for this character.

Your reply is PERFECT! Clary might be able to love Simon some day if she really wanted to, but it would never be the passion she feels for Jace - her possible brother. :shock:

I don't think Simon deserves to be someone Clary settles for especially since he knows that Clary has feeling for Jace - who might be her brother :shock:

And I agree, Clary and Jace somehow complete each other and lift each other which is what true love should do - even if your love is your bother - maybe. :shock:

I love Simon as well but he is not right for Clary. Jace is the man for her. I do not believe they are related, they just can't be! *insert foot stomp*

Jace! I think Simon is more of a 'guy friend' to Clary than a boyfriend. Jace and Clary are definitely attracted to each other, and I don't care that they are 'brother and sister' :mrgreen:

I still hope that they aren't!

Sorry, I think I was just possessed by a valley girl... Seriously though, there's no way she should be with Simon. It's not fair to him for one thing. She is completely gone over Jace, and frankly so am I, so she should definately be with him!!!

Definitely Jace!! Although I truly like Simon at the end of City of Ashes. It would be hard for Clary to be with him now. Jace is a shadowhunter like her.. Their passion is deep. I hope that that they end up not brother and sister

I would have to say that I want Clary to be with Jace. Some how it justs has to work out that they are not related. They are meant for each other.

It would probably be some kind of impossible love but Clary has to end up with Jace in the end. It just makes sense for how they feel for each other.

I think that Simon is like the big brother she never had. Now that he is what he is, I can't see them together anyway.
