I saw an interview with RP and KS at the MTV movie awards and they were saying that there was supposed to be another clip completed soon that they would see, then KS corrected the statement (I think it was her) and said that she wasn't allowed to see it. That made me think that there will be MS material in the movie, but due to the secrecy of the manuscript and all the legal mumbo jumbo Summit had to agree to in order to get their hands on it , only the people that have been granted access to MS can see those clips.

i think what rob is going to view (and that kristen was not allowed yet to see as per the mtv awards interview) is the 1st cut or edit of the twilight main picture itself. and i think summit itself did not really get its hands on MS, stephenie just allowed rob to read a copy of the MS manuscript during the filming to help him understand the character of edward better, but that's it. so in a way, there will be 'MS material' in the movie as you put it, but just via rob's interpretation of edward's character. Very Happy

I was surprised at the poll results too! I figured MS would be winning because we all love Edward so much and want to be in his mind. Don't get me wrong, I'm also dying to see the movie. But I would always pick a book over a movie, no matter who is in it. My mind supplies all the details I need.

Books are always better than movies. Then I started noticing things being changed in the movie clips that did not need to be changed.... I'm sure the Twilight, NewMoon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn movies are going to be great. The books will always be better.

yes, this is true. and this is the reason why i said that i prefer MS. although in fairness to the movies, its really never easy to adapt a book into a screenplay, and these changes are necessary in order to adapt and translate the book into an entirely different medium. so even if they don't want to change anything, the movie makers need to, because not all scenes in the book will easily translate well into the big screen.

so, book. besides, in reading books you get to use your imagination and then some. in movies all the senses are served and utilized, so there's not much room for use of one's imagination. Very Happy

I can't wait for the movie either, because I know it's coming soon and it is very hard to turn a book into a movie. I mean we are going to miss out on a lot of 'thinking' Bella does in her head in the movie but I'm sure there will be more action in the movie to make up for it.

One plus to the movie is that since most of the book revolves around Bellas thoughts, there will be new scenes in the movie to keep the story moving. That means new stuff for us to see! Very exciting!!

Extremely difficult choice.

I want the book, because as beautiful as our Edward is in the movie, we can't get into his head like we can by reading MS.

However, one advantage to the movie is that it will give us a peak at the Edward from MS. Since SM gave Rob the draft of MS, and Rob is playing Edward from that perspective, I'm convinced we will be able to see a more complete picture than from just reading Bella's pov in Twilight. The movie will be a nice balance between the two books (TW and MS.)

But I still want MS first.

I think that the movie will give us an interesting perspective on Edward because of what Rob said in an interview. He said that he really didn't see Edward as that great of a guy, it was just how Bella saw him. I think that is going to bring an interesting dynamic to the movie because when we read the books, we all saw Edward as Bella did. It will be similar to MS, even though it from Rob's perspective and not necessairly "our" Edward's POV. Either way - it will still bring something different to the movie that will keep us talking Very Happy

But back on topic...I'm MS all the way baby!

I have to say, sometimes it's one, sometimes it's the other for me. I think it's the difference between seeing Edward and being inside his head. I want both! So bad!! But I love to read a good book so the books will always win out for me in the end.

GREAT (and painfully hard) question, but I also think that the movie will have some hints of Midnight Sun. Plus, I am planning on watching the movies (I'm assuming we will get at least one more before Midnight Sun comes out) to help ease the time until the book are released.
