I am sorry if this has been discussed already, I tried to make sure it wasn't, put there are so many posts and so little time.

There is a lot of talk about different characters scents in the books, and since scent can trigger memories I think it has a powerful connection to Bella and Edward. I kind of think that Edward would smell clean, like outside in the fresh mountain air clean, mixed with a sweet almost citrus smell, maybe like a mandarin orange all rolled into.

What do you think?

Possibly, though I spend more time thinking about Jacob...

Jacob: Ocean, deep forests after rain, rich loamy earth, salty, and maybe smokey-not like cigarettes, more like bonfires....mmmm...I bet he smells amazing.

I think that Edward would smell kind of masculine and musky. But in a good way. The kind of kind of subtle cologne smell that makes you want to follow him wherever he goes. One that just kind of tickles your senses just enough to be intriguing. He would smell sexy.

Jacob I think I would agree would smell a bit more fresh and outdoorsy. I would agree with three-hills about the bonfire/smokey smell, which to me is a comforting scent. He would smell comforting.

Edward to me smells like Polo.

Jacob to me (in new moon) smells like a freshly cut grass....strange, I love that smell though and it reminds me of outdoors, which reminds me of Jacob. I would say cedar, but I am allergic and I certainly don't want to be allergic to Jacob!

I think Jacob in my mind smells like christmas tree with a woodsy smoke smell with a little musk smell.. It would be good.

Edward... In my mind is very clean smelling with a sandelwood and sweet honey almond yum...

I would agree with that...I think of Edward as the sweet to Jacob's salty...but sandalwood reminds me too strongly of a few hippies I have known..

I always imagined Edward to smell like my hubby does when he gets out of the shower...clean, fresh Irish spring like scent. For Jacob, I have always thought his scent would be more musky like..sort of like Old Spice. :D

That's exactly what I imagine he'd smell like.

Edward is totally not my type. I haven't even thought of what he might smell like.... I'm too busy thinking about Jacob *sigh*. To me, he'd be intoxicating.

*wanders off to dreamland....*

Since reading the books, I've noticed my husband has a sweet type smell, so I just imagine he smells like Edward.

As for Jacob, maybe a woodsy incense.

I think of Edward as smelling sweet - almost too good. Have you ever had a waiter in a restaurant that was wearing really nice cologne, but half way through your meal you start thinking that it's almost to much. I know I am weird...but that's what I think of.

Jacob to me would smell like rain. I love it when it's fixing to rain and you take a deep breath, you can just smell the rain coming. That's my Jacob!

I think Edward would smell like Romance by Ralph Lauren because its just an amazing male fragarance. I agree with the bonfires, etc with Jacob.

Edward would have that ice cool Aqua-velva thing going on. (There's something about an Aqua-velva man). Sensuously chilling, but, quick to heat you up and boil your passions at a moments notice.

Jacob, is more of a mesquite kind of aroma. Tickling the senses with just a touch of that rugged outdoor man's man going on, but intoxicatingly addictive to any woman who happens by at the time.

This topic is incredibly distracting-and I have to go to work...where people I hope cannot notice that I am categorizing them by smell!

My personal Edward would smell like Aqua Di Gio.... amazing, yet very sweet male fragrance... it smells so delicious it makes me wanna take a bite outta him!

Jacob....

I'm originally from Seattle... so I would say that Jacob smells like that area after rain.....

seattle smells like a plant nursery after it rains, only cooler....the hint of salt on the air from the ocean, pine sap, and grass/greenery, and lake water....fresh outdoors

with just a hint of musk.....

those are my ideas of what they would smell like... :)
