How long did it take you to fall for Jacob?

I loves Edward.
Jacob is for me an uncontrollable teenager.
He helped Bella during her time without Edward, that´s the only positive thing about Jacob for me.
He wants her so much, that he hurts her sometimes and doesn´t protect her from pain. At the end of NM Edward reads in his mind, that he wants him to go and he drives the bike to Bellas house. And at the beginning in Eclipse he tells her about Victoria. Ok, Edward lies again, but he only does to protect her.
I won´t miss him, because he is an important character in the books, but I do´n´t like him...
And in all good books, films oder soaps, there is a character you don´t like... That´s why they are working...

I too fell for Jacob in the tent scene I was so sad to him hear him get hurt when he overheard Edward. I cried at the end of eclipse when he recieved the inviatation. I was like come to me Jacob you don't need Bella I'll take care of you Wink

I fell for Jacob when I got to Eclipse, I felt really bad for him when Bella saw their future together, but let it go. Of course I would have made the same choice Bella did, Edward without thinking it twice, but I still cry everytime I read Eclipse again.

I'm am so glad Jacob didn't imprint on Bella. I think Jacob deserves someone to love him 100%! Wink

I can't help but defend Jacob. He is so vunerable and young, and he really puts himself out there. My sister always says, I just can't fall for Jacob. (I don't know why she is such a Jacob hater Evil or Very Mad

) She says he is just so immature. I know, that is why I let so much slide with him, he hasn't learned yet! I just have to think there is more in store for him.
And I would love to read that fanfic (about the tent part), where can I find it?

I fell for Jacob(not completely of course) but at the same time Bella did. Slowly. It was his funny and sweet ways. He let Bella be Bella. I liked the side of her that came out when Jake was around. It was different than when she was around her beloved Edward. I don't think the bond between them can ever be broken. Regardless if her heart stops beating or not.

In Twilight, I barely noticed Jacob and saw him more as a plot device then anything...

I had already heard that Edward was going to be missing from most of New Moon, before I had read it. So when I first started to read it I was already a little resentful towards Jacob and thought I wouldn't like the book without Edward. But I have to admit I was wrong.

I loved Jacob that first day that Bella drove down to see him with the motor bikes. He was so warm and wonderful... I also love the person Bella is when she's with him. She's just so different then I've seen her during any other part of the book. So carefree and happy in this really organic way. I actually found that during New Moon, I really got to know Bella really well. I actually began to like Bella even more then I had in the past.

I am sure that SM will introduce a female character for Jacob to imprint on. Hopefully someone who is a strong female character and who can match his energy. I see Jacob with someone as strongwilled as him, someone that can go head-to-head with him. That would be fantastic because it would allow Jacob and Bella to become friends again, without the romantic undercurrent (which just becomes painfully uncomfortable during the end of Eclipse).

This of course is assuming that the whole werewolf/vampire piece gets sorted out... which I think it will, although I don't know what SM has up her sleeve. I think she's generally refused to answer questions about whether or not a werewolf could imprint on a vampire...

I've been wondering if SM would ever introduce a dhampir (half human/half vampire), or if they are even a part of the folklore of her vampire story. For some reason in my mind this would be the ideal character for Jacob to imprint on (they are technically human, so it might be possible). I keep thinking of the character Blade, whose mother was bitten by a vampire while she was pregnant... I don't think Jacob would imprint on a full vampire, but maybe a dhampiress?
I guess that's a little far fetched.

Wow! KatieAllison interesting point of the dhampir. I never thought about that. I just finished a book with a character like that in it. I'm not sure if that would be something SM would incorporate into her story line. Who knows. I guess we'll find out in August.
