do you remember, though, the meadow scene? Oh, just a minute, I'll go find it.....
This is after the part where he really touches her for the first time.
"His face drifted to the side, his nose skimming across my collarbone. He came to rest with the side of his face pressed tenderly against my chest." . . .
"It won't be so hard again," he saidwith satisfaction.
"Was that very hard for you?"
"Not nearly as bad as I imagined it would be. And you?"
"No, it wasn't bad . . . for me."
He smiled at my inflection. "You know what I mean."
I smiled.
"Here". He took my hand and placed it against his cheek. "Do you feel how warm it is?" And it was almost warm, his usually icy skin."
So... when Edward is, um, aroused ( ) his skin does become a bit warmer.
But then again . . .
"His mouth was not gentle; there was a brand-new edge of conflict and desperation in the way his lips moved. I locked my arms around his neck, and, to my suddenly overheated skin, his body felt colder than ever. I trembled, but it was not from the chill." (Eclipse p. 449) |
Hmmmm. I always thought his skin was warm b/c he had just been resting his cheek on her chest and the warmth was transfer from her.
I love those quote BTW. I was just reading the meadow scene last night! *sigh*

That's how I interpreted it, as well. Her warmth flowed into him when she pressed against him. _________________

Not to derail the R Rated sequences...but I have thought that Edward would just make sure the room was really warm and get one of those heated matress pads so that she can be very comfortable...and he can still be a gentleman and have the perfect "innocent" first night they both want in a nice huge comfortable bed. Just me maybe. _________________ "...you are exactly my brand of heroin[e]."
