Am I asking too early?
I looked online and it appears that the closest airport is Seattle. Kinda thought it would be Port Angeles, though. Smile

It's so funny that I am the only one posting on this thread...

OK, so I got the scoop about taking a little plane to Port Angeles.

What I am hoping is that several moms can share the cost of renting a car/beg other TMs to pick us up.

Since we are all traveling around together, we don't need a million cars, right?

If you are interested, let me know!

I would be interested in sharing a car with you. I'm flying up by myself, and I was going to rent a car anyway. If there's a way to meet up in Port Angeles (maybe try and arrange to arrive around the same time) and share the ride into Forks together that would be great.
Keep me posted!
Very Happy

Most of us (that I know of) are flying into Seattle and either renting a car or hitching a ride with the locals for the drive to Forks. It's about a 4 hour drive I think...

Originally I planned to do that too, but since I can't drive from Orange County to Los Angeles without getting hopelessly lost I decided it would be wiser if I didn't drive the 4 hours between Seattle and Forks. Laughing

Haha, yeah. I wouldn't get lost, I'm like a map lol, but I can't stand driving long distances. We are carpooling so we might take turns like an hour each and that's about all I can handle.

I drove to mammoth a few months ago and I was all shakey and paranoid after about 2 hours... I couldn't handle it

I was worried about getting across the Puget Sound - I'm directionally challenged enough as is it, but throw a large body of water in my path and forget about it!!

Plus, I do kind of have an ulterior motive for wanting to fly into Port Angeles... in the book Bella takes a small plane from Seattle to P.A. and I kinda want to see it from her perspective. *hangs head in shame* I can't believe I just admit that! Embarassed

Ha! Is that the water that makes the Olympic Peninsula a peninsula? Laughing
I've gotten directions telling me to drive completely around it and others saying to take a ferry. So I have no clue what we will be doing...

Well, I wouldn't be as intimidated by driving from Seattle if there's going to be a group caravanning. That sounds like a pretty good plan actually.

My in-laws got us a GPS for Christmas. They rock. It is a total lifesaver. And it will definitely be coming with me!
The drive sounds like it will be a blast!

tiff, don't worry, I also was a little interested in the Port Angeles thing for the same reason. This is the one place we never have to feel lame about stuff like that! Smile

You guys will be driving, no ferries involved. That is just not practical, LOL

Oh, ok then! I don't know how navigating around water works, we don't have to do that here Wink
