He leaned in slowly; the beeping noise accelerated wildly before his lips even touched me. But when they did, though with the most gentle of pressure, the beeping stopped altogether.
He pulled back abruptly, his anxious expression turning to relief as the monitor reported the restarting of my heart.
"It seems that I'm going to have to be even more careful with you than usual." He frowned.
"I was not finished kissing you," I complained. "Don't make me come over there."
He grinned, and bent to press his lips lightly to mine.
The monitor went wild.

That one line went through my heart only to be followed by,
"You don't want me?"
arghh adolescence the second time around is just as hard.

I don't have my book, but its right after they visited with the Volturi and they are in the foyer. Alice says to Edward "I think she's going into hysterics. Maybe you should slap her". LOVE that line!

There are so many wonderful lines in all three books, it almost seems unfair to single one out; however, like I'm sure most of us here, I have a favorite line of all, from Twilight.
The line, "You are my life now", by Edward to Bella when he is rocking her in the chair in her room really does it for me. The magnitude of this line sums up the purpose and meaning of the story for me. Life came to Edward when Bella entered in. Edward even eludes to it somewhat when he explains how "for ninety years I've walked among my kind, and yours...all the time thinking I was complete in myself, not realizing what I was seeking. And not finding anything, because you weren't alive yet." I go to mush every time I read that!
