There are so many wonderful lines in all three books, it almost seems unfair to single one out; however, like I'm sure most of us here, I have a favorite line of all, from Twilight.
The line, "You are my life now", by Edward to Bella when he is rocking her in the chair in her room really does it for me. The magnitude of this line sums up the purpose and meaning of the story for me. Life came to Edward when Bella entered in. Edward even eludes to it somewhat when he explains how "for ninety years I've walked among my kind, and yours...all the time thinking I was complete in myself, not realizing what I was seeking. And not finding anything, because you weren't alive yet." I go to mush every time I read that!
Whew!! Sorry, I'm done rambling....guess you figured out by now I really love that line |
I LOVE THAT LINE TOO!!! Twilight is the BEST! |
I'm getting all mushy again mtmommy!!! I think I am looking forward to hearing Edward say that to Bella in the movie more than the meadow scene itself(did I REALLY just say that??) _________________ "Children are the anchors of a mother's life"-Sophocles

I get SUCH a thrill when the lights in Bio class come back on and Edward says, "Well, that was interesting."
So understated, so very Edwardian, especially when you know how hard he had to restrain himself from jumping on her.

One of my fav Twilight part is when they were in the meadow the 1st time and Beel leans into Edward, and his reactions is this.......He runs over to a tree...and says "I'm the world's best predator, aren't I? Everything about me invites you in--- my voice, my face, even my smell." Then he goes on to say."As if I need any of that!"..............."As if you could outrun me. As if youf fight me off."
I love that part, evertime I read it my heart beats probably just as fast as Bella's. _________________

I love when she's planning on going to Seattle (or Portland? can't quite remember...) and he makes a crack about her truck's gas mileage. She says its none of his business and he says,
"The wasting of non-renewable fuel sources is everyone's business."
That's when I fell in love with him. That sarcastic, quick, intellectual sense of humor. Oh yeah - I think Edward and I would get along jus' fine!

I think the first line that really cracked me up was when Bella and the Cullens first met Laurent, James, and Victoria. When Laurent clues in to Bella, he looks incredulously at Carlisle and says, "You brought a snack?"
I also love this:
Edward - "You smell so good in the rain."
Bella - "In a good way, or in a bad way?"
Edward - "Both, always both." _________________ "You would have come," he promised.

Oh, my gosh! I never caught that 'no one is going to bite me' line! (p. 14) Good memory! _________________ "You would have come," he promised.

As I was making my 3rd trip through Twilight I passed a great quote and thought "huh, I should make a list of favorite quotes and passages." I'm so glad someone thought of it first!! I laughed and racing-hearted my way through the topic. I'll let you know what I find on my next trip thrugh...should be pretty soon, I've laid off for a couple weeks now

I adore all of these. Also, the classic "which is tempting you more line"
But two words set the pace for the increase of humor in Eclipse, to me.
Penguins, lovely. _________________

Here's a Bella quote, to balance out that most of the quotes are Edward's. I don't have the book in front of me, but in the Meadow she says to Edward: "I'm here...which, roughly translated...means I'd rather die than stay away from you...I'm an idiot." I can totally hear and feel her when she says that. _________________
