Right now we are all speculating about what Edward is really thinking based upon Bella's viewpoint, the first chapter of MS that SM has teased us with and his outward dialogue and actions. Do you think that there will be anything shocking, extraordinarily romantic, out of the ordinary, not what you expected or just plain never saw that coming, to be learned about Edward once we get to read the entire MS from his pov? Again this is all just speculation, but fun just the same. Thoughts ladies?

Probably the first thing that comes to mind is we might get a glimpse of what the Denali coven is like through Edward's eyes which may help to shed some light on just exactly what went on between him and Tanya. Also, I really would like to know when Alice first saw her vision of Bella becoming a vampire and Edward's whole reaction to that idea (i.e. did he care at first? did the worrying come later?) When I think of some more, I will come back and post.

Lollylew took my first two thoughts, but the most shocking thing I think will be to see the conversation he has with Esme when she tells Edward to "do what you have to do" when he's struggling with mixed emotions about Bella. My less shocking things are that we will possibly get more insight into what happened during Edward's "rebellious stage" as well as the Cullen's hunting trips (if that's not covered in BD).


Is SM staying true to Twilight specifically or is she going further in the series? I am dying to know even more information about Edward when he left Bella in NM.

I too am looking forward to knowing the meaning behind her suggestion. I know that some have taken it to mean to just kill her but I don't; I think she means change her. I don't understand how Esme can welcome Bella with open arms one minute and then tell Edward to kill her the next. JMHO

Nothing shocking, but there are a few things I want to know his take on.
I want to see the Denali Coven and more of Rose.

I want to know this as well. I love how(Alphies FF, I believe) has her seeing it when Bella makes up her mind in the forest. Which makes perfect sense.

What I really see coming through strongly is the depth of the emotional struggle Edward endured during his tumultuous beginnings with Bella. By looking at it through his mind, we will have a better grasp of the conflicting array of emotions he was dealing with as well as the magnitude of each. We will have the opportunity to "feel" the feelings Edward had, from anger to eventual love, because it is not something we must interpret through his actions rather, we will know them because they are his true thoughts.

Hearing his thoughts also will help us to better understand his relationships with his family and clear up some of the unknown questions that have been nagging at us.

I am not ruling out the possibility of some unknown fact about Edward surfacing in MS. Not something earth shattering that would alter the storyline in anyway, maybe just enough to be viewed as conversationally interesting. He is too complex a character to not have one locked away somewhere in the folds and crevices of his mind.

I don't know that I can think of anything truly shocking that we might find out although I'm sure there will be plenty. I think we'll get a stronger glimpse at the depth of Edwards feelings about being a "monster". I think we'll feel and understand a lot more about his inner turmoil and his struggle to resist falling in love with Bella. I'm looking forward to hearing his thoughts about all the guys who are standing in line wishing for Bella to give them the time of day. I hope we get a better glimpse into the inner workings of the Cullen coven as a family unit. I hope we get a few glimpses into Edward's past; what it's been like from decade to decade for him wandering around without a soul mate. I can't wait to read the Port Angeles rescue from his point of view as he's searching other people's minds trying to find Bella. **goosebumps**. OK, face it, I just can't wait to read every last detail from Edward's point of view.

I can't wait to hear his thoughts when he reads Alice having a vision of him changing Bella.

But that is not new....I think we will learn a lot of new things about Edward, nothing story changing, but new just the same. I can't wait to find out every detail. I'm hoping to learn more about: Denali, Volturia, Edward's two medical degrees, see more of his relationships with his family, when he rebelled against Carlisle and more specifically what was the final straw that brought him back, his thoughts during the six weeks he wouldn't talk to Bella (that's when he fell in love....I can't wait!), his memories about his first parents, his thoughts about Carlisle after he changed Edward then Esme then Rose then on and on..., how he and everyone else felt when Alice and Jasper came and how the Cullen family looked to him to tell them if A/J were okay.

I could go on but my kids want to go outside to play. I hope I didn't ramble too much.

I think I will be shocked by the number of times that Edward wanted to kill Bella.

I mean even though we find out in Twilight that he was tempted and that her blood sang to him in a way no other blood ever had, I was still surprised by the depth of his actual reaction to her that first day in the Midniaght Sun chapter.

I suspect there will be many more such occurrences...well into their relationship. And even though I'm expecting them I think the actual desire Edward has to do it and the restraint he uses to hold back will still shock me.

I'm especially curious about the Edward watching Bella while she sleeps scenes. From Bella's perspective it's always been presented as this very sweet and romantic notion but I'm going to guess our perceptions could be forever changed if we learn just how many times he was tempted to bite her during those moments.

I want to know what it was when it clicked in him that he was head-over-heels, madly in-love, can't live with out her...I mean for him it wasn't love at first sight...it wasn't until her 'blood sang to him' that she had any affect on him what so ever. Just as many have said before the conversations between him and Esme, Alice, Rose and what it was like for him to see other people in love and him with out...and definitely the Denali Clan!

I'd like to find out his thoughts when he realizes James is a hunter and what he's feeling when he sees the video. I wonder if there's more to this James/Alice/Edward conflict than we know about. James was having too much fun with Edward; I'm hoping there's more to find out about it.

I can't wait to find out what Bella said in her sleep and his reactions. Not to mention how tempting it is for him as he watches her sleep!

I think that Edward's mind is such a complicated array of thoughts, that we are bound to discover something we never knew about him when we hear his thoughts aloud. Will we love him as much as we do now, maybe even more, and dare I say maybe less? Will things we interpreted in Twilight about him be changed in our minds because now we hear his. All things to ponder as we patiently await the arrival of Midnight Sun.

My thoughts exactly! I do wonder if he was ever tempted to just kill her as he was watching her sleep. No witnesses, etc. Wait, maybe I don't want to know!

I am curious about all these things as well! The Port Angeles scene, as well as the meadow scene from his perspective!

I am also curious to know more about Alice/Jasper and Emmett/Rosalie from what Edward hears. What are their relationships like through Edward's eyes?

And how does he deal with being away from Bella when she's w/ Alice and Jasper? How angry, if at all, was Edward with Jasper after she escaped from the airport?
