Ok, so I'm extremely ticked off right now. I go to open my pay stub tonight, expecting a nice big pay check only to find it a lot smaller than I thought!!! I look at my hourly rate only to notice they paid me straight time for 98.5 hours when I was supposed to get 88 hours at straight time and 10.25 hours at time and a half.
Now, I had agreed to work overtime to help them while they were short staff. But I had also requested that I continue working 6 shifts per week to save up some money for an upcoming trip and other financial goals. The agreement was to continue getting time and a half for anything over 44 hours per week until we became full staff. I only finished training our part time night person last week!!
So naturally... I'm ticked off and am upset because I was expecting a much bigger pay check, especially with an optometrist appointment coming up and some other major expenses!!!
GRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rant done!!! |
That's awful. I'm so sorry! Can they straighten it out & cut you another check before your expenses hit? |
I left a note on my manager's desk with a photocopy of my pay stub. So hopefully she will fix it but I likely won't see it until my next pay. Its only about $60 but still... I didn't work myself to death to not get "credit" for it. |
$60 is still $60 more than you have now. I'm so sorry & hope they get it fixed soon. |
What a bummer!! I hope they straighten it out for you.. |
Ok, so the assistant manager said it was because I agreed to work 6 shifts a week... I agreed to continue to work it but until we were full staff, I was to get paid overtime. Once we were full staff and the new staff was TRAINED, then I would get paid straight time. Ugh! But no message from my general manager. *sighs* |

| Today just sucks and I needed to vent about it! First, I went to the doctor this morning cause I feel positively icky and I have a sinus infection & bronchitis. Yuck yuck yuck! I came home with more meds than a pharmacy! Second, I went into the garage to get my cell phone out of my car and locked myself out of the house. So I was stuck in the garage with nothing but a cell phone for 45 minutes in my pj's - super embarassing! My mother-in-law left work to come let me in the house since my hubby works in downtown Atlanta and it would take almost an hour to get to me. Luckily, my mother-in-law is great and she didn't even make fun of my situation. I'm going to go take a bubble bath now. Thanks for listening! |
I am sorry you are having such a bad day. Maybe a little Robert is what the doctor should have ordered.
 |
I'm so sorry for you. Just take it easy tonight (if you can). Drink some tea. Watch some really bad tv. Go to be early. Get better soon. |
You poor thing! Sick is bad enough, but locked out to boot? Get well soon. |
Sorry the day sucked Now that you're in the house.. relax, have some Twilight therapy and feel better!!! |
Thanks for all the wonderful advice ladies! It helped tremendously. I have my copy of Twilight and a hot cup of tea. I'm relaxing.... |

I'm going on vacation in a week, but I think I'm going to start a little early with a self-imposed exile from the computer and my phone. I'm being surrounded by negativity... my job, my friends, my life in general... even the wonderful TMs (my escape from all that) have been getting bombarded lately. I hate drama, hate conflict and negativity, so I just need to back away and clear my head; put things back into perspective and find my center again. It's time to do a little mental spring cleaning!
Thank you all so much for being awesome and for making a place where I can post this. Hopefully when I get back in a couple weeks, I'll be able to add to your rays of sunshine! (Maybe I'll have some Hawaii pictures, too )
Thanks again, TMs <3. |
Hawaii??? NICE.. I am going to London this summer... have fun and catch some waves for me!! |
Hawaii was without a doubt the best vacation i have ever been on...i hope you enjoy yourself and get the rest and relaxation that you need |

Okay, so I work in the hotel business. I'm a night manager meaning I work strictly nights. So I do regular front desk work plus manage the intial accounting details for our general manager.
I've been doing this for 9 years. Well hotel business for 9 years. 6 and a half years of in house reservations or regular front desk and the rest as night auditor/manager.
Tonight was the first night I had to evict guests from the hotel. Trust me, not a pretty site. It was horrible and I pray to the Gods that I never HAVE to do that again.
This is all after I was threatened last night at my music gig by a "former friend" for money that she claims I owe her that I do not.
*sighs*
On a happier note... I just checked out a guest with the last name Cullen... LOL! |
I'm so sorry you had such a bad night(s). I must say even though it sucks having to evict guests your pretty lucky that was your first time in 6 and a half years! Hopefully it was your last! *HUGS* |
You're in a tough industry - I don't envy you there!
Good luck! |
Yeah it was a rough night... And today I awoke to verbal threat on my voicemail from a former friend, and then email making some serious threats... I think I have to get the local authorities involved... again... this time for personal reasons.
*sighs* |
Also, do not hesitate to seek legal counsel, even though you really don't owe this person for anything. If anything, it will lessen the stress you will have.
Some people can't live without drama - FICTIONALIZED, though IT CAN BECOME *their* reality - so dont' be surprised if this has to do with getting attention.
I know what you are going through; I had a former friend who stalked me for four years before she gave up. I realized she was one of those people who isn't happy unless she sucks you dry (like a vampire) of your emotional worth and doesn't hesitate to work without boundaries. So maintain your distance from this person and get yourself some legal and law enforcement support asap. |
I have a meeting with my manager at work in the morning and I am also going to see the local authorities with the evidence I do have. She claims I owe her money but I don't. Oh yeah, warned my superintendant at my apartment building and will be changing my phone number. The only way she can reach me is at work, or via email and if she continues to push it then it will make my case stronger. |
im sorry that you had a night like that, cant believe some people do things like that.
i would get the police involved.
hope it doesnt happen again. |

Hey Guys,
Have you ever had one of those where everything that can go wrong probably did, and you wish for nothing more than to be able to start it all over again?
Here's mine:Yesterday was to be my last day at work as I am taking a mini vacation. After working 6 days a week for three months I am finally able to walk away, turn my phone off, and just enjoy life. My last day started 'lovely' when I walked into my store and realized that the electricity was out. Got that fixed.
Than, I got a call telling me that the staffing help that I was to get so that I could lessen my hours and go back to working 5 days a week instead of 6, wouldn't be able to start until the middle of April. I swear I was going to walk out the door just than to never return.
On the way home from work, my car cut off on me. In the middle of traffic. Busted timing belt. It won't be fixed until this Friday which is my birthday.
Than there were lots of little things in between that are too many to list. I was mentally ready to just give up on the world and lay in bed under my quilt until the year past, but I knew that Edward wouldn't want that. hehehe! So, I'm doing yesterday over again today... Does anyone have any similar 'day from hell' stories?

Yesterday was a little like that. We just bought a used van for our family to get around and we've only had it a week. I went to my doctor's visit yesterday and for some reason set the parking break. When I left I forgot to release it (I think the sudden snow storm in late March distracted me). I noticed it on the next level of the parking garage. I went to release it, kept driving, but the light was still on. I parked to determine what I did wrong. I realized I pulled the hood popper instead of the break release. I release the break, keep driving. Then I notice the battery light on the dash. WHAT?? Pull over again, get out and close the hood, but the light is still on. Turn off the car and wait a minute, turn it on, the battery light is off, thank goodness. But then it took me a minute to find where the defrost switch was.
I got home and went to my neighbor's...my daughter was playing over there and they were listening to my baby monitor during my son's nap while I saw my doctor. I went home and saw a voice message from a friend who was walking home from somewhere and got caught in the snow storm. Go back over to the neighbor's so she can listen to the monitor again because my son was still asleep. I just didn't understand why my friend didn't call me on the cell phone, because I had already been out driving when she called. I tried to start my van and the key stuck! I couldn't get it to turn whatsoever, for like 3 minutes. My panick was mounting because of what the van had already put me through that afternoon. I finally dialed my husband on the cell phone and it suddenly turned. Oye. I went and retrieved my friend from the thrift store she was hiding in to warm up/wait out the snow. It was a little exasperating, but bearable.
Hopefully today's much more calm. |
I swear when it rains it pours, but positive thinking(sometimes really hard to do) wins out in the end. I wish you a super day today!

I am serious... instead of having bad days, i realize that each event is there to help me.. there are no problems in the now only situations |

I get that, really I do.
But would someone please tell me how to make the #*$&#@^$ clutter in my house disapper? It is driving me insane. I clean one room, walk into another, and the clean room is turned into a disaster in approximately 4.8 seconds!
Really, is there a secret everyone forgot to tell me? _________________

Well, when you get the secret, pass it on to me please!! My hubby doesn't understand why I go on strike to clean some of the rooms in our house. Why should I clean it if it's just going to get messy the next day. If I don't clean it, then the mess is already there, and I've just saved the kids some trouble...how about that!? It's very frustrating.
And I like the Phyllis Diller quote. _________________

Why am I the ONLY person in my house who knows how to take out the trash? Huh? Why? Seriously, I thought men were supposed to take on that job! I mean, that's why I got married, so I'd never have to take out the trash!

It's sad... I agree. I have had to resort to killing my own spiders too. That's just not right!
I guess the fast that my hubby does laundry and is a great cook, balances it for me.
However, I get the biggest kick out of holding up the garbage bag, pretending its too heavy and playing the damsel in distress routine. If you make it really pathetically horrible acting, it usually works wonders. Maybe he does it just so that I will stop. Anyway, give it a try and let me know!

I always tell my kids that one of these days I'm going to wait until they've worked really hard to clean their room and then I'm going to go in and dump stuff in it to mess it all up again. It's how I feel about cleaning a room and then having it absolutely destroyed a few minutes later. _________________
